Bodies of Water

Lake Norman is the largest man-made lake in the state, boasting an array of fish species that make it a popular attraction for families. The area offers plenty of recreational activities such as kayaking, biking, hiking, and swimming, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can also take advantage of the educational center to learn about the lake's history and its reach throughout North Carolina.

Awesome lake over 52 mi.² and 515 linear miles of shoreline. Clear water, sandy beach, islands, lovely scenery and beautiful houses.

Love this place, it is so peaceful and the staff is incredible. Sometimes life has a way of stressing us all the way out and the remedy is to just get away and put the technology down. This place is a therapist in a box. Highly recommend no matter what your situation is.

Brandon Williams — Google review

For us this was an exploratory visit. From Charlotte (south of the lake), Google brought us to the northern most point, where the visitors' center is located.I expect there are other points on the lake that would be more convenient to Charlotte but going to the visitor center explained the park's main feature is the bike trails (Hiking too, I guess).Visitor center: gift shop & public restrooms. No entry fee.No parking fee.Picnic areas, some with BBQ pits, for family sized group. Larger areas for organized events also available (reservations may be required).Canoe & paddle board rentals.Nearby boat ramp available.

Place is absolutely beautiful. Great place to hang out. Been here a lot, so it’s definitely worth it. Other than the water getting dirty at times, it’s a great destination to hang out. Weather sometimes gets on your nerves, but that with everything that goes on. Definitely coming back here for my next visit.

Ice Time — Google review

It truly is our own Inland Sea. Grew up on the shores of LKN and now spend just about every weekend March through September on the lake. Absolutely the best sunsets around.

Neal Young — Google review

Wow! This lake is a perfect slice of paradise smack dab in the middle of North Carolina. Great for boaters, swimmers, or just chilling on a quiet dock somewhere. The water is murky green and you can’t really see to the bottom, and there are small leeches in the clay that’ll attach to your feet and legs, so there’s all that. The Duke Nukem power plant pulls water from Lake Norman to cool off the reactor, which I’ve heard heats the water a bit in the South end. Pretty sure it’s not radioactive but I didn’t bring my Geiger counter. If this place ever goes Three Mile Island, those million dollar homes will be worthless, so rent, and enjoy the lake while you can. Watch out for Normie the Lake Monster. Reports say you’ll see him if you have too many beers.

Chuck Fresh — Google review

Great family place. Kayaking, biking, hiking, or swimming, or camping you name it. You can do it all at Lake Norman. You can visit the educational center to learn all about the Lake and how far it extends throughout the state.Walk through the trails, and dip your feet in the water.

Sevor Klu — Google review

Beautiful hike! My husband and I took the Lake Shore Trail to the 2.5 mile point and then cut to the short trail (it was hot and we didn't have enough water)The trail is natural and in a few spots not really well marked. Roots and rocks make it important to watch your step.We saw lots of spiders, a black snake and squirrels, but its the trees that really make it! The canopy gets really thick and the path shaded. We can't wait to go back!

Caryn Bennett — Google review

Beautiful lake with tons to do.We went kayaking in the sunrise and sunset. Enjoyed both experiencea. Then we went out on a baot with the whole family. You can stop on islands or the state park and a have a wonderful day out in the nature.

Aquarium

Zoos & Aquariums

SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord Aquarium, situated in the Concord Mills Mall, offers a diverse range of family-friendly exhibits featuring an array of sea creatures. These exhibits provide play areas and group packages for added convenience. With over 5,000 underwater creatures including jellyfish, clown fish, green moray eels, octopus, triggerfish, and various sharks, visitors can explore more than 20 themed showcases that mirror North Carolina's natural surroundings.

I had a great time! Reasonable price for 6 hours of aquarium time! Walk-through took about 45 minutes at a slow-casual pace. Beautifully themed displays, fish, jellies, and turtles live in close up exhibits. A touch pool lets you touch urchins and sea stars. Gift shop at the end had a lot of varied choices for souvenirs.

Tracy Rudzinski — Google review

We went here while we were on vacation. Very busy place. It was just us two adults with no kids. We really enjoyed it, it was smaller than most aquariums we have been to, but the price was good and we did enjoy it. They did have several different species they are trying to save. Very informative if you read the information provided. The staff were friendly and actually seemed to like their jobs.

Jami Clark — Google review

I had a birthday party here for my son. It was really nice. Staff was nice they even set up the party room. It was a little pricey but well worth it. They let you bring your own food unlike most places. My guests had a good time. I would definitely recommend it.

Octavia Lindsay — Google review

Wonderful little aquarium. Very nicely done. Neat tunnel and varying views of large tanks. You could buzz thru quickly, but we spent a couple hours really watching everything. They do have an intractive touch tank as well. We were surprised it was located at a mall, but that made it very convenient.

Marla Bingham-Connelly — Google review

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!!!!Please do not judge this place by what you see from the outside. Not that the outside is in bad shape or anything, but you would think that there's not a lot to see............you would be wrong!!This is a very informative, colorful, and clean aquarium. You can tell that the sea life is well cared for and that the habitat encourages growth and comfort.I actually came for Beasley but found so much more. I definitely recommend for children, family and friends, and even an evening date. I can't imagine this place will disappoint. ESPECIALLY THE TUNNEL!!!I hope you enjoy the pictures and videos. This place is as cool as it looks.PS - If you time your visit right, you can watch them feed throughout the aquarium.

Romeo Brown — Google review

It is a nice day out place with kids. Mu daughter loved being in the aquarium and collecting fun stamps at each exhibition. Nice full filled day activity for parents and kids. Must visit.

ritika razdan — Google review

Was a great time for the family and kids! They have quite a lot packed in and some pretty amazing aquatic life. We had a great time, and the costs were not excessive, especially considering it kept us busy for hours. Would absolutely recommend for a family afternoon out if you are looking for something fun and educational for your friends and family.A+

Daniel Farrow — Google review

So much fun! We got there closer to close than I would've liked, but the staff was so friendly and helpful. We got to see brand new baby seahorses and there was a super friendly looking puffer fish. We loved the tunnel!

Heather Ball — Google review

Great experience but the cost should be much lower for the size. We paid more here to visit that many other aquariums that were double and triple the size. As for the variety of sea life and staff, they were above and beyond. I also like how they provided extra education activities for younger ages. A great 30 to 40 minute activity with a younger child.

A Spice Below the Horizon — Google review

Had a great time. It took about an hour to walk through everything, but you could return at any point during the day. We also did the behind the scenes tour and the host, Matt, was great. He also interacted with the adults and kids in the group. Amanda was amazing at answering questions. We bought the VIP picture pass and it was definitely worth it.

Hades Daughter — Google review

Little pricey for as small as it is. I was not expecting it to be in a mall. Can get crowded in a heartbeat with little wiggle room to see anything or to get away. They do let you go through as many times as you want, so that helps, some. They have a tunnel which is cool but the lighting isn't set up well, so it's not easy to tell what you are looking at sometimes.I did NOT realize this was geared directly at kids. My bad for not doing more research but it's super kid friendly, which means it's not adult friendly in terms of viewing or moving around. Also, by kid friendly, I mean exhausted parents that don't give AF what their kids are doing, which is screaming, yelling, tapping glass, shoving each other, crying and running. So yeah, I just wanted out of our Airbnb on a rainy day and thought a visit to an aquarium would be cool. It wasn't as awesome as I hoped. But hey, floaty-butt turtles always make any day better.

Vee — Google review

We had our daughters' birthday party here on Friday! It was an amazing experience for all that came! The room was beautiful! The staff was great! Highly recommend Sea Life for a fun unique birthday party experience!

Jennifer Harper — Google review

An absolute must for kids!!! Everything is their height, 100% interactive displays, hidden portholes and the Junior Range kit keeps them engaged looking closely to really appreciate the different species. We did the behind the scenes tour and learned a lot. Staff are all top notch. Worth every dollar. Went with grandma and my 5 year old son and they were both beyond thrilled.

Adrienne Hand — Google review

Some very nice exhibits but it is very small for the price. There is a nice kid’s area and some good pop up spots for viewing fish. The tunnel is short but has many creatures swimming overhead.

Rachel Parton — Google review

We visited while we were in town for the holiday weekend. SeaLife was fantastic and they had a lot of aquatic life. We loved our time there. Unfortunately, we went on the busiest shopping day of the year, so getting out of the parking lot was a nightmare. Would recommend visiting on any other day though.

Jill T — Google review

My husband and I are both in our 20’s without kids and we were pleasantly surprised by this aquarium! They had a good amount of different animals including stingrays, sharks, fish, turtles, and many more. We were able to touch starfish and sea urchins. I enjoyed the turtle rehab section where we could see a turtle who was rescued from the ocean because he was stranded and injured. They had a cool tunnel you could walk through to see the animals as well. This was a great experience for the price!

Rachel Beatty — Google review

Sea Life was nice. We were hoping it was a longer undersea stroll but the location is probably the reason. All the exhibits were breath taking.I'm not sure but I was trying to add a video. I was trying to show an exhibit where it looked like skinny snakes poking out of sand trying to get the small fish. It was so amazing to watch. I can't seem to show.

Jackie Hoyle — Google review

Went there with a group of people, and it was a blast. I loved the little shipwreck they had and we loved doing the stamps. Even though it was a great experience overall, it was kind of short. But yet again not surprising since it's in a mall. It's a great place to go to with kids or to go to on a day out.

Ray — Google review

How delightful to have an aquarium within the Concord Mills mall! We're not from the area and I love aquariums so this was a pleasant surprise. I was really impressed with the size of the aquarium itself and everything it has to offer. They have a touch pool which is fun for kids and adults alike. They have an underwater tunnel which is exciting. I think the porcupine fish might've been my favorite. He was huge! Highly recommend and will visit again.

Deanna White — Google review

My family and I visited a beautiful place over the weekend. An aquarium where you can see unusual bright fish. Electric skates, sharks, moray eels, sea stars and much more. There is a petting pool where you can touch starfish. It's unusual and interesting. Come see this beauty. Lots of useful stuff.

vika rup4eva — Google review

My wife and I went here while we were in the area on our honeymoon. It was fascinating to observe the creatures up close. We developed several favorites. Personally, I enjoyed watching the stingrays, sharks, and the fish that tirelessly dug holes in the sand. The staff, notably Greer, whom we spoke with, was exceptionally helpful, polite, and informative.

Zulu — Google review

Took a school trip here with my Grandson, first time we visited. The experience was a very good one. My Grandson who's 5 really enjoyed the exhibits. It's a beautiful place, takes about 30-40 mins to go thru and see everything. The staff was really friendly and very helpful.

Gee Crowder — Google review

Bought our tickets in advance, and it was easy. There is plenty of parking and easy to find. It is attached to Concord Mills Mall. Staff was super friendly and awesome. Plenty of sealife to see and interact with. I highly recommend checking this place out if in the area.

MAC — Google review

For being a small aquarium in a mall, they have several fish and even a cute rehabilitation tank that currently is hosting Beasley. It was really cute and had a lot of exhibits in it, surprisingly, including an interactive touch pool. My nephews enjoyed it, smallest barely wanted to leave. I would definitely recommend it for younger kids or people who love sea life in general.

Khadijah Surratt — Google review

It is bigger than I expected it and they’ve done a great job with this aquarium. Organize, clean, different fishes. Easy to navigate. Pretty good size, not too big or too small. The staff were polite.I went Friday at 12pm and there were only two more families at the time so it was a great experience.Once you buy tickets you can leave and get back inside as many times as you want. At least that’s what they told us on this date.

Veronica — Google review

Very neat stuff here. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Just wish it was a longer attraction for the money. The kids enjoyed it but I don't see this being a "season pass" type attraction.

Eddie Varh — Google review

When I saw this aquarium was located in a mall I had low expectations. I could not have been more incorrect. Not only was this location large enough to entertain adults for an hour, but they have an ocean tunnel, in a mall! The facility was well kept, the tanks were all large and not overcrowded, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Plus it was affordable. 10/10 would recommend checking it out while you're in the area. Then you can go shopping in the mall, knowing you're in the same building with fun things like sharks, eels, and jellyfish 💛

Nainsi McK — Google review

Sea Life Charlotte-Concord is an incredible little place. I worked with several staff members (Kaitlin, Jasmine, and Erin) who treated me like royalty to make for a very VERY special night.I was able to set up a beautiful proposal and evening and they helped at every step. They set up special lights and stayed open a little late to help make this magical moment happen. The aquarium itself is very nice. The decorations are perfect (lots of pirate decor) and the flow from room to room makes the aquarium feel five times bigger than it actually is.I am forever grateful to the lovely people that helped me propose to my wonderful partner. And I will be back many times to enjoy both the aquarium and the memories made that evening.

Water & Amusem*nt Parks

Great Wolf Lodge Concord features an enormous 84-degree indoor water park perfect for all ages, coupled with tons of dry land activities to keep kids entertained for hours on end.

Highly recommended! Talk about an awesome experience for the little ones. The water park was superb, great rides and the lines were not that long. Their buffet restaurant was absolutely FANTASTIC for breakfast and dinner, we loved it! There’s so many activities and things to do, is a great place for the entire family. The Kamp suites were a hit! The kids loved having their own area with their bunk beds. It was really a great time! 10/10

Carolina C. — Google review

I had one of the best times with my son, niece, nephews and my Mother at our 3 day stay at Great Wolf Lodge. The atmosphere and activities were amazing and the children loved everything they could do. Really a place for the whole family to have a blast. Now this is not 5 stars because there was really a big flaw with the place. They are pretty greedy almost to an absurd level. You have already paid well over 600 dollars to be there for two nights and they have several things for everyone to do that do not cost anything. But if there is anything on their grounds that you have to pay for, I would just be prepared to hear some of the most ridiculous prices for whatever it is you are looking for. They had a small gift shop which was fine. We checked it out and found a small candy shop area in it with gummy worms and assorted candy. The children wanted some so we go to the desk and get a small 8 oz. or less cup to fill with candy. When we go back to the desk to pay is when you find out that this small cup of the same candy you can get at most gas stations for a dollar is going to cost you $18 before tax. And that is just one example of the several things like that you will be exposed to. So I had a great time and in the end paid greatly for it.

Steven Hertig — Google review

My family and I had a great time. We took our 2 boys, 1 and 4, and it was so much fun. We only did the water park and stayed in the rooms. I do think the pricing is a little high, but, if you can find deals, it is worth it.I would definitely go again. It's also close by to where we live and close to the mall. You do not have to eat there if you don't want to. We ate out every night. But next time I want to try out their food.

Joshua Pack — Google review

This place is way too expensive for what you get. Paying for 5 star rooms, but get motel 6 quality rooms. Food there I paid $70+ a meal for 2 adults, 2 kids. When we went to Golden Corral 10 mins away, paid $40 for 2 adults, 2 kids and had all you can eat. It's a money trap. The water park is actually great. The kids and I loved the water. So my recommendations is buy their day passes and call it a day trip.

John Patton — Google review

We had a blast! We only stayed one night and we had plenty of time to do everything. We arrived early and enjoyed the water park while we waited for our room to become available. The room was spacious and clean. We purchased the wolf pass and the kids got to enjoy the arcade, laser tag, movie and other fun activities. We also enjoyed all the free events they hosted!

MomsWithThoughts — Google review

I’ve been to this resort several times, but I was very disappointed in this stay. Let’s start off with they advertise a rate at $169 but add a resort fee of $39.99. I ordered a birthday package of $89 not worth it at all. I asked for the Pizza voucher that comes with package so we could have it for lunch. The lady at the front desk said we couldn’t do that. That the pizza coupon would be delivered to the room between 4 & 6. That’s not explained at all! Which really messed up our birthday lunch. We finally got to order a pizza but they got our order wrong. The guys were nice enough to make us a new pizza. We were told they would text us when our room was ready and they never did. It’s pushing 5pm and we had to leave the water park to go ask the front desk. Our door was not decorated for the birthday which was also included in the birthday package. I had to call about that. Then to top it all off the A/C in our room wasn’t working properly. When we entered the room it was cool. The controller on the wall didn’t work. The actual unit was blowing out heat at 4:12am. We would turn it down to 64, made sure it’s on cool but still blowing heat. We turn the unit off and it would still blow out heat with a code FP. We had to sleep with the outside balcony door open because I didn’t want to call maintenance and wake up the kids. When I did report it to the front desk; the guy just looked at me and said I’ll report it to maintenance, With no consideration that we didn’t sleep good. Seems like they’ve lost their customer service over the years. My kids are older now I’m sure this will be our last trip because not sleeping well and having to drive 2 hours isn’t fun.

Sheila Khatib — Google review

My family and I went to a celebration on Christmas Day. It was very special for my children and my husband. We were very happy. There are many enjoyable moments that can be shared with family and friends. The buffet starts at the breakfast restaurant at eight in the morning. It was an excellent breakfast that you can eat here. The cleanliness and service are excellent. It may cost you between a room for rent. For 4 persons mom dad and 2 tenajer with Playing games and eating for two days, between 1500 to 2000 dollars is not very much for the Christmas holiday.

Sofia Ramun — Google review

The place was amazing, the indoor water park had a lot to do between the wave pool and the rides you could be there for hours and still be entertained. There is also an outdoor pool but due to the weather we could not experience it. Though from our room we could see that the pool was massive. They have multiple places in the lodge to eat so you do not have to go anywhere and the activities you can do in the lodge will last you multiple days between magiquest, mini-golf, bowling, etc. They also run events pretty much all day in the lobby so you can always just go to the second floor and let your kids dance and play to the events while you relax at the sitting areas around there. The only reason it's not five stars is because the elevators are super slow due to only being two elevators among a huge amount of guests and the parking is packed to the brim due to the amount of guests so getting a good parking spot is all luck.

Capcomcar — Google review

Someone told me this place was very over priced and the rooms were outdated….. My experience was completely opposite! I was very impressed with the room it’s self. It was clean and the decor is charming. The only issue I did notice is there was a lot of food left in the bunk bed. Like crime from someone eating in bed. I brought my 3yr old here to celebrate is birthday and he loved every minute of it. The pool was of course our main attraction but we also enjoyed the arcade and bowling. We love that the arcade games still actually dispense tickets. For my 3yr old that was the best part! He kept yelling “TICKETS!!!” Every time he won 🤣. He loved it. The complimentary wolf ears were cute and we took a bunch of pictures in them. The gift shop is cute and depending on what you’re looking for it can be a little pricey but not outside of what you would expect to pay at a resort. We didn’t get a chance to take advantage of the live shows because we were so busy but passing by it was something we decided we definitely would make time for next visit. There is something for everyone at The Great Wolf Lodge.

Erin Riley — Google review

Overall, a 5 star two nights. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. The indoor water park was warm, well maintained and clean. The kids had a blast. The whole family loved the bowling.Negatives:The air conditioner unit in the room was so loud, and so was the fan in the bathroom. The rewards for the arcade were pretty skimpy with not many choices. The water park was enjoyable, but my 3 year was upset she couldn't ride any of the bigger rides including the family raft one.

Liz Smith — Google review

Great indoor water park! Celebrated our little ones' birthday here, and that was perfect. We got the birthday package, they provided everything we needed for the little party. The boys even loved the cake! Can't say enough about the park and the great staff and service! Recommend getting the Wolf Pass if you're thinking about doing most of the activities. It allows you to do most everything you could want to do. Kids especially loved the Magic Quest!

Stacey Cook — Google review

We live in Charlotte but have never visited the Great Wolf Lodge. I took advantage of coming since we had weekend visitors. I must say, I hate that I waited SO long to visit. The customer service was amazing and the amenities are awesome. Everything you need is right here! The slides and pools are adult friendly as well, and there's also a bar at the outside pool as well as inside at the water park. Something for everyone to be able to relax and enjoy. I highly recommend a visit, at least once.

Robyn Wallace — Google review

Reading the reviews I had set myself up to be disappointed but from moment 1 everything was great. The staff was wonderful, the food was good, the whole resort was clean (I saw staff meticulously cleaning at all hours of the day and night) and the pools were fun for all ages. I definitely recommend buying the breakfast buffet ahead of time - it was well worth it and really good. We will definitely be back. Kudos to your staff for giving all your guests a wonderful vacation.

cntry07 — Google review

Overall the experience was meh. The water park is the highlight and definitely worth visiting. My son loved the activities he got with his Wolf Pass ($99). Mini golf was the a let down. They obviously haven't been taking care of it..the cups for the holes stick up above the turf and on some holes the starting spot where u begin is totally missing and there just plastic in it's place. The room and on site food weren't so great. Our room smelled old, moldy, and dusty which made for an awful night's sleep if u have allergies. As you walk throughout the establishment you see dust bunnies caked up on almost everything. My wife made a reservation for the on site restaurant and I 1000% suggest just going off-site to eat. The food was edible but definitely not my top 1000 places to eat.Long story short - they need a remodel/update the rooms and dust BAD. I would just get a day pass and stay at another hotel in the area.

Phillip Shepherd — Google review

We went to celebrate a birthday, and we can't say one bad thing about this place. The grounds are gorgeous, the place is CLEAN. Our room was sparkling clean, I can't say enough about the staff. Every single person we came in contact with was exceptional. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back!! They keep the kiddos busy with lots of daily activities. 5 stars! 🌟

A — Google review

My kids loved their visit for the most part. They enjoyed having everything in one place and being inside during the cold winter. This is a great idea to have and recommend that people check-out for themselves, if it matches your needs. The three stars comes from our shortened time at the water park due to our kids being scared of the bugs.Pros: Stay where you can play, All the attractions you need to stay busy for a couple of days, in-door water park, food options were good to great depending on the entree you picked.Cons: Little directional signs, Rooms are dated and could have more themed characters, bugs in the water area scared our children, (Great Wolf Lodge can’t fix this, but) A lot of coughing and germs flying around, no courtesy masking in sight (consider masking if you are there in peak flu/covid time)

Daniel McKelvey, Jr. — Google review

Kids enjoyed it well enough. Floors in the rooms were carpet and felt sticky. I'm sure this place was nice and awesome when it first opened but now just feels old and not cared for properly. For the price I expected way better. All the "events" happening in the lobby just left a bunch of crowds trying to get around each other. The output was horribly dryrot and fun for small kids that don't have any point of reference. The food should not be as expensive as it is when the tickets are already high and quality was just not there. Better drink options are needed, flavored waters instead of constant soda would be nice as well. We may try another location but don't think it's worth it, especially this location.

Overall, my children had a wonderful time. The water park was awesome and the room was clean.Staff was very friendly and helpful.Big.downfall for me, the "Iron Horse Fitness Center" was less than up to par.I understand the pictures online are of another facility, but it is still very misleading to show that fitness center online, as it is absolutely not even close. It was filthy! The water fountain was so dusty and dirty, I really questioned the last time it was cleaned. One side of the water fountain did not work. The exercise bike chair was broken, the only two machines in there that offered weight training were broken as well. The equipment is outdated but for me that's not an issue, it being in working order is the issue. Also, that is the smallest gym facility at a hotel or resort that I have ever been to. They definitely have room for more equipment.Parents have their own things that they enjoy, this should be a big deal!

We went to great wolf lodge with my son's school for a family day. It was truly a great time, there was so much for kids to do from the multiple pools, water slides, games and all around there indoor adventures. One day is definitely not enough time to bring it all in and do everything they offer. Me and my family will definitely be going back for a longer stay next time to try out there adventure quest game takes place threw out the whole resort. Also they have these really neat wolf slippers in kids and adult sizes.

Robert Whitney — Google review

Fun place for bigger kids. My son is 4 and wanted to do some of the other rides but was just too short. I think their height requirements are a little crazy. Fun activities for the kids. Never had any hot water or a warm shower the entire time I was here. They had an issue with the hot water. Very overpriced. I’m glad the kids had fun but I can honestly say I would want to come back.

Kim Ludlam — Google review

Loved this place! The kids had a blast. The water park was clean and fun and the arcade wasn't over populated and had great games. They have other fun things like build a bear, gold mining, laser tag, and more. We did all of it and the kids were so happy. The room with the wolf den was awesome and the show in the lobby was so darn cute! Best of all? They have a text service concierge that you can text at any time and get immediate answers. We would definitely return.

Had a birthday weekend with my granddaughter. There however was a mix up with the billing. I was very upset until I spoke to Shannon McGovern at the front desk. She spent so much time with me explaining what happened, and FIXED IT IMMEDIATELY. She made me feel like I was the only customer in the whole place. Miss McGovern saved our trip. She is remarkable and her customer service was fabulous. Because of Ms. McGovern, I would come back. I normally don't do google reviews, but if I could give her 10 stars I would!!

Rebecca Nicholson — Google review

This is a comment about customer service. We haven't been to the location yet. We booked for one night, which includes two days at the water park - the day of check-in and the day of check-out... On our day of check-out, the water park will be closed for maintenance. I called customer service and asked if we could receive day passes to use at the water park on a later date to make up for the day the park will be closed. I was told they would not do this. I confirmed that single day passes are a product that they sell. They confirmed that they do sell single day passes. I asked again why I couldn't be issued single day passes for the day the park will be closed for maintenance, and they simply repeated that they would not do this. Their only answer was for me to change my reservation date. However, the day I reserved is the only time we will be in town, so I can't change the date. Also, it is in their interest to book the day/night before maintenance to get money for the room. It's just plain, good customer service to not allow your customer to only receive a fraction of what they actually paid for. It's completely doable for them to issue day passes. They simply won't do it. We will keep our reservation, but, unfortunately, this company has revealed themselves to be in it for the money, not for the customer's experience. In the long-term, that's just bad business.

Leslie Marie — Google review

I came here with my family. The room is amazing, the location is good and convenient, the service wasn’t bad but could be a lot better. But the real issue was the pool and the deck condition. The pool was covered and algae and there was fecal matter on the deck along with the restrooms. I personally find this absolutely disgusting and unsanitary for such an expensive hotel. It took them a long time for the staff to finally clean it up. There were foot prints imprinted in the fecal matter which spread all around the deck of the pool and possibly inside of it. This ruined the vacation for me and my family. We came for my sisters birthday and this left me, my family, and other guest absolutely disgusted.

Overall went for the Little one to visit some old friends and went to the Arcade. The parking was horrible as they had their entrance and exit all over the place. The rooms were nice and not overall priced. The Arcade was very nice with a bunch of other features such as bowling and laser tag. They also have Santa currently in their lobby which was really cool to see . Overall great experience and me and the family didn't even stay, had such a good time that we plan on returning on vacation next year and staying there.

We had a wonderful visit to the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord NC during November 2023. The indoor water park was very nice and the kids absolutely LOVED it. Our upgraded room was spacious and clean, but a little dated. We purchased the breakfast buffet and snack credits. Each morning's breakfast was very good. We also got our kids the paw pass. It came with a build a bear, arcade credits and candy/snacks. I would say it was worth the price and the kids loved making the build a bears. We will return one day and bring friends for our children to go down the slides with, so the adults can get a little more relaxation, instead of climbing water slide stairs all day.

The staff was all great. Everyone was super nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The water park is awesome. If you come with teens that aren’t into the wand thingy or build a bear you can get an adventurer’s pass for $149 that includes most of the games for your whole party for the duration of your stay. This is not advertised anywhere that I could find. The drinks are very good at the watering hole, but expensive. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the Loose Moose dinner buffet. The food was not that fresh and the selection was not that great, certainly not for the price charged. I guess you are paying for the convenience, but I would recommend eating out. All in all we had a great time but wish the food was better and cheaper.

Overall, I was pretty disappointed. Perhaps I expected too much.First, the bad: extremely crowded, even during the weekday. They charge $100 "incidental deposit" PER NIGHT to stay here, something we didn't know until we checked in. Food is not good. Almost every activity costs extra $$$, water park excluded. I expected more for how much we paid. The good: rooms were really clean. All in all, our trip was disappointing. For those considering visiting, I'd recommend staying off-site and doing a day pass.

Tyler fa*gan — Google review

Just had an overnight experience here, one of several for my boys. The rooms and the overall facility are very well-maintained and kept up. It was Disney-levels of upkeep, which says a lot.The water park was the reason we came and it does impress. The slides are great fun! The towels could be more easily accessible, rather than hidden in the gift shop with no signage. We ate off-site for the most part, as the food here is pricy and just so-so quality. With so many options to eat in Concord, the in-house dining did not appeal. The only reason for -1 star for us were the hours for the water park. It closes early (8pm) and opens very late (10am) so a lot of times where you'd otherwise be in the pool. It's VERY difficult to keep excited boys entertained until TEN in the morning. They've been up and ready to go since 8:30...

Matt Kuerth — Google review

I'm sure if it wasn't packed for spring break, it would be better, but as it was, it was... fine... I guess. The kitchen staff was hilarious. They constantly messed up orders, argued amongst themselves, and were slow. Housekeeping regularly made negative and rude comments in Spanish, thinking we didn't understand Spanish.... whoops.Life guards were on point! Great life guards.Waterpark was nice, but there was no large hot tub. My kids were frequently cold and unable to warm up well despite the heated pools.Magic quest was fine, kinda limitedOverall, it's a pretty ok experience. Not blown away, the overcrowding for spring break really isn't the parks fault, but if there were fewer people, it would have been better. We got a group on, but it was still overly expensive. They nickle and dime you for fountain drinks, which was absurd. Everything was absurdly priced. Bring your own food/ beverages.

Philip Lorio — Google review

I had the bright idea to bring my family here for a night to celebrate my 3 year old’s birthday. The crowds in this place are absolutely insane. The noise level in the water park makes it impossible to carry on a conversation. This may be a personal preference, but I thought the water in the water park was too cold, and the air temperature inside was too cold too, especially given that it’s cold outside.Speaking of cold, the showers weren’t working properly during our stay. We came back to our room from the water park, eager to take showers to warm up, only to find that the water pressure was very poor and the water wouldn’t get hot. I notified the front desk of the issue and they advised me that this is a known issue and maintenance was working on it. A search of google reviews reveals that this is, in fact, a known and apparently longstanding issue. For $600 a night, I need to be able to use the shower in the room. The front desk staff initially offered a completely inadequate solution of free vouchers for the breakfast buffet. I declined and was able to convince them to refund 20% of the room. All activities other than the water park cost extra. All snacks, food, and drink are very expensive, but this is to be expected at a “resort.”It is a shame that this was such an unpleasant experience; this place could be a great place to bring the kids for a little fun but it’s too expensive and the facilities are not up to par.

Holli Patillo — Google review

Wonderful place to get away with the kids, especially in the winter. Lots of things to do. There's not many indoor places like it. Food is good simple American fare, rooms are decent and the place is huge. Unfortunately the pool hours close to early and open up to late, it's a really pity on them they cannot accommodate better hours, I would probably go more and host more Birthdays days there.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway is a highly-rated, 138,000 seat stadium which hosts NASCAR races as well as other events. It's also home to a drag racing track and other attractions.

We did the drive through fan experience and it was way better than you would imagine from their website description. The history of the track was great and we got to drive and walk on the track and stop in the winners circle as well as the start/ finish line. It was pretty awesome!

angie b ramirez — Google review

Very nice and updated track, huge! Seating is bench seating with looonnggg benches, so if you are seated in the middle grab your food and go potty before sitting down, it is nearly impossible to slid back out. Be prepared for the children, this track offers $10 child tickets, so if you are not kid friendly, you may want to skip this one. Otherwise, great food & bars on site, plenty of bathrooms, and handicapped accessibility. Overall a great track!

Marsha Shelton — Google review

We went here with a group from our neighborhood for lunch and a tour. Lunch was wonderful, but the tour was awesome! We were driven on the track and took a fast and furious drive around the turns! So much fun! If you ever have the chance to do this tour, do it!

Cruisejunkie — Google review

Christmas lights at the speedway were wonderful. Although the wait was nearly 4 hours, once we made it to the lights it was like we never even waited. Such a magical experience with lots of effort put into setting up the lights, the music, everything. Great way to celebrate Christmas imo

Lucy Beattie — Google review

I absolutely LOVED this track. It was my first experience with a Nascar event and I enjoyed every moment! It was a bit confusing getting to my seat but the staff was very helpful.Parking was complicated. The people directing traffic sent us to an RV park and we drove in circles for 20 minutes trying to get out. It was 20$ once we found a place to park.As always, I want more vegan options but the atmosphere was decent and the patrons were diverse and kind.

My husband and son loved their birthday/graduation/Christmas presents. They did the tide along with an experienced driver followed by driving the cars all by themselves. They absolutely loved it. I've never seen them smile so big. They are still coming down off their high. I scored big brownie points.

Iceblue Eyes — Google review

Visited the Speedway for the Xtreme Xperience and all I can say is wow! There was also a similar NASCAR drive event happening there at the same time so it was great to hear the real sounds associated with stock car racing while simultaneously experiencing the high speed / exotic cars we were there to drive! Ventured to the restrooms while there and was pleasantly surprised how clean they were.

Great track to watch a race. Went to see the 2022 Coca-Cola 600 & 2022 Alsco 300 Great signage inside and out. Lots of food choices including food trucks inside the track. Now parking was a nightmare. Even had prepaid parking but no one directing traffic into lots.

James Scott — Google review

Went to the Arca and truck race.. both were awesome and good seats. Food is way overpriced and even water. Some places were selling water for $5-$10 outrageous. So bring your own and pick up food before, and they did not accept cash for anythingthing in the gates, so it was card only

The speedway is spectacular and to talk about The Bank of America ROVAL 400. It is an unforgettable experience filled with energy and adrenaline. The race lasts just over 3 hours with 109 laps, each featuring 17 thrilling turns. Watching the cars zoom by is exhilarating, and the engine sounds are unique. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; it's perfect for family outings, hanging out with friends, or even a memorable first date. It's an experience that will stay with you forever.

We attended the holiday lights festival. The kids, especially the younger ones, really enjoyed it. The adults enjoyed driving on the track. We arrived at 6pm on a Monday night and only waited in line for about 15mins to enter.

Brad Kosar — Google review

We went to see Christmas decorations. The entrants cost is 45 $ per car. And its a bit much for the light show that we saw. There are some nice lights decorations and there're very simple one. They have a village Christmas lights in the middle where you can walk, grilled smorth on fire. And there's a shop you can buy different things. Also you can buy snacks. There's a screen you can watch a movie seating in a car.

The whole facility around CMS is top tier. I love this track especially for the co*ke 600 on Labor Day Weekend. It’s one of NASCAR’s most iconic tracks and I always enjoy spending a weekend here. The whole track area is laid out very nicely and we even found a great area for parking! The fan zone and fan experience is amazing as well. Overall Charlotte is one of the best NASCAR Tracks to visit for a race weekend.

Museum

Shopping

Stock racing museum featuring winning cars & a shop on a 52-acre vehicle manufacturing campus.

Very interesting place if you are remotely interested in Nascar Racing or the history of racing in general. They have a ton of cars, lots of memorabilia and a great deal of machinery that shows how they designed and developed the cars. It would be a good day out for kids of all ages. The price of the tickets are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. There is a store to buy anything to do with racing you could wish. There is no food on site, I would recommend a local BBQ place nearby as you are in the BBQ capital of the US!

I went on Saturday and spent an hour and thirty minutes taking my time to see everything. A large portion of the museum is dedicated to the late Dale Earnhardt Sr but that is very understandable as his contributions to the sport are stuff of legend. I really enjoyed my visit and would recommend it to anyone.

Nascar country!!!! If you're a fan of RCR racing, Dale Earnhardt Sr. or Nascar you need to stop by this museum. The collection of Earnhardt cars is amazing. Take a walk through racing history, from RCR racings humble beginnings to multiple championships, make the journey, it's worth it....

I decided to stop here and check out all of the Dale Earnhardt cars, I'm glad I did. Saw his Daytona 500, Brickyard and Winston 500 No Bull win cars plus many other themed versions he raced over the year.

Amazing shop and the experience is well worth it. See the old shop at the museum and how cars were built. Ran into Andy Petree and he was kind enough to say hello when I can only imagine how busy he is. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly and I even said hello with out my wife and they still said hello back 😂. Inside joke with Andy. Thanks everyone, can't wait to see you all at Darlington.

My brother and me were here about 4 or 5 years ago from Charlotte. We walked through, but after seeing this video, we didn't see a lot of the things shown here. We didn't see the car hauler and all the #3 cars shown here. Were they added later? We did meet Mike Dillon and Chocolate Myers, both very gracious ... but I feel I cheated myself... Did I? Next time I'll ask questions on how to walk through. Nobody's faultexcept my own ...This place here looks new, when did it open? The first time I was here, mid 90's, crossed the RR tracks and walked in, then got a guided tour through the shop. What happened to the Earnhardt wrecked car where he got out of the ambulance and drove back to the pits? Thanks ...

Jim Gribble — Google review

If you're a racing fan, this is a must stop. So much history in such a cool layout. Wish we could have seen the current cars being built but the museum was more than enough.

As a Dale Earnhardt Sr fan, this is a must see. I found this museum, Dale's former race shop, accidentally and it filled my heart with joy. It checked off a bucket list item I didn't know I had. Outstanding!

Robert Hackenberg — Google review

The setup and flow were great. The cars and literature was fascinating. Dale's 3 was beautiful. The black paint has a piano shine to it. I had never noticed that at the race track. The only thing missing was a current generation car to look at. I understand that they are tightly regulated by Nascar, but I was wondering if a total loss car could be repaired for display only?

Ed Menefee — Google review

What a great place to visit and see how they get things done. The museum is super thorough and exciting. Loved the day i spent there on the open house. Thank you to RCR.!!

wolfgang schulz — Google review

In September of 2022, I drove here by myself for my own birthday gift as I live in Lexington, NC not far from here at all (Welcome, NC) and I love museums, especially any automotive ones. I was not disappointed. I bought a ticket ahead of time and the relatively low prices are fantastic for how comprehensive this museum truly is, especially if you are into Nascar racing. Now I am not much into Nascar, but I am certainly what you would call an automotive enthusiast and I enjoy motorsports, it is just that Nascar is not the type of motorsports I prefer the most.I arrived and the parking and traffic was excellent with plenty of open spaces. I went during a weekday during normal business hours and there was hardly anyone here, so there was no overcrowding at all. Fantastic! The museum itself is a modern ,clean, organized building in an area easy to navigate... so no jammed city streets like some museums, which is so much more pleasant in arriving and leaving the vicinity.Inside, I checked in quickly with no queue and the sole staff member was professional and polite to me. Once inside, there is so much to see in the world of Nascar, I hardly nowhere to begin. You will see so many past famous and notorious stock cars in elaborate large rooms and well laid out displays, plenty of Nascar racing and mechanical parts like entire engines, tires, and transmissions to look over and scrutinize. There is so much to read on the displays and TVs and there are TV screens all over to watch long ago news clips and footage about the history of Nascar and concerning all kinds of historical races, past events, milestones, and timelines in Nascar history going back many decades all the way to the origins of the motorsport.I saw mock ups of pit crews, rooms where Nascar automobiles were designed, and I even walked through am entire Nascar transporter.I saw more real trophies in this sport than I had ever seen in my life by far. And there were displays of valuable Nascar miniature car models and memorabilia. In one large room, there was a display of the interior of a Nascar race car and an opportunity to sit in it. There were posters everywhere of Nascar drivers, cars, plaques, and descriptions of their racing history and career. The museum is heavily themed for Nascar, and it is more than just the Nascar artifacts and cars themselves, thus it truly feels like you have stepped into and are now apart of the motorsport itself or you are at a Nascar racetrack or as if you are somehow involved in the spirit of Nascar and racing. They captured the essence of this motorsport that is for sure. This place is a theater for Nascar actually.Overall, I loved the several hours it took me to tour everything here, I learned so much more about this motorsport than I ever knew before, and in addition to the main Nascar museum there is a small conservatory wildlife museum that it is also worth viewing through. The gift shop, while I did not purchase anything, I noticed has plenty of merchandise to choose from.Even if someone is not as interested in Nascar or motorsports like I am, I am an motorsports aficionado, this museum I feel still remains a treat to visit and see at least once in your life. I recommend the Richard Childress Racing museum to anyone that is able to visit here.

Timothy Dowd — Google review

The museum includes many race cars from over the years. Cars driven by great drivers like Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt are on display here. Some you can even touch and get inside. There is also a great exhibit of wildlife and stories of hunting and conservation on display. There are many photo opportunities for individuals and groups. Visit this museum as well as other racing legends in North Carolina and Virginia to get a full picture of the history of NASCAR racing. Richard childress is the only team owner with championships in all three NASCAR divisions: Trucks, Xfinity, and Cup Series Races that run on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively.

Brian Hammill — Google review

RC built a great place for us fans to watch the teams prep and load the cars.

A must do when in Charlotte area. Cost children under 6 free. Adults 10.00 seniors 8.00 and children over 7 is 5.00. This museum is very nice. Does a great job respectful of Dale Earnhardt time racing for RCR. All current and past race drivers. Give yourself 3 hrs for the museum. Not able to see shop area or pit stop practice like other race shops. Nice large gift shop area price resemble.

Amanda Johnson — Google review

There are many cars, from several RCR drivers on display as well as Dale Earnhardt's hauler. You can take a walk through the hauler and get a close up look at how it was set up. Several cars have plaques with descriptions about the car, event it was raced at or other interesting information. This is a must see for any NASCAR fan.

High Point is home to the furniture capital of the world, and one of its most famous attractions is the World's Largest Chest of Drawers. The building is 32 feet tall, and can hold up to 800 drawers. It's a fun and quick stop for tourists to see two huge roadside attractions. Kids are mesmerized by the scenery, and it's a great find for breakfast in downtown High Point.

Another review for my collection of "superlatives," this is the World's Largest Chest of Drawers. Of course, it belongs here in High Point as it is the capitol of furniture in the Untied States.Remodeled in 1996, this is the new structure. Steel framing and stucco, it stands 38 feet high with simulated brass handles. And it even includes two giant socks as a tribute to High Point's hosiery industryThere is plenty of parking nearby and if you're shopping for furniture at one of these many nearby showrooms, check it out.

This is the second stop of the day. This is what is called the largest chest of drawers. It is located in High Point North Carolina. It appears to be about twentyfive feet high. There is not much trafic on the city stree in front of it so it is easy to take selfies. There is a pair of socks hanging from a drawer. I walked around the side.

World's Largest Disappointment! We had just finished a business meeting and our new recruit suggested this and he was really excited! My business partner and I thought what the hell? Why not? My summary is as follows: The so-called attraction is located between a small children's daycare center and a run down 90's small business shop upon which further examination made us question whether this was a tourist attraction or a place where I would get bonked and robbed within 5 minutes of visiting. The spectacle of master craftsmanship in furniture design is fake - it's hollow, thick plaster or particle board, nothing is real and the socks aren't even Gucci. Don't waste your time, you are better off gawking at the trees in a local park and wondering how the branches grew in such weird directions! God Blessed Texas and I sure as hell hope he blessed this town because if this is what they expect to draw an actual crowd and drum up business they are screwed. Laughs and memes is the only excitement that this attraction may bring, not even a sign explaining the landmark exists. Have a great day!

Ivan Henderson — Google review

We thought it a little bit of nostalgia while on our visit to High Point University for our daughters invitation to the Innovation Summit.

Brenda Lutz — Google review

It's a GIANT CHEST OF DRAWERS!! How can you not stop here.Nothing to do here unless you are heading for the children's museum that according to the sign is 343 steps to the left😂But a great photo op. You can try to get yourself grabbing your socks or opening the drawers.

Michael James — Google review

This is a "see only" landmark. Can't do anything with, in or around it, but it's great for taking pictures, and kinda one of a kind thing. The kids loved it.

I don't know how to rate a giant chest of drawers. It's a giant chest of drawers. It was exactly what I expected. The socks are a nice touch. 5 out of 5 for giant furniture.

It's a cute roadside attraction and it's free to visit. Huge chest to click the photo and keep it for your Greensboro/ Highpoint visit memory, kids love it and get excited. There is free roadside parking just ahead and also before the Chest. You can take a quick stop click that photo and go on your way. Parking is also available in the alley behind Chest but it's not exclusive for this so take a quick break and move on fast.

Abhay S. — Google review

Well, this is a really large chest of drawers. Nicely painted, easy parking right near, not a lot of traffic.

Holly J — Google review

We were towing a vehicle behind us, so we couldn't stop, but it was easy to drive by and take pics. I had read about it in a NC Roadside Attractions book a couple of years ago and we just happened to be driving through the area anyway, so we drove past. Downtown High Point has some cool murals, statues, and architecture, so there are other things to see on your way through, as well.

Rita Russ — Google review

Our company had a bucket list and this was on it, so we had to go (we've lived in the area for seven years but did not know of this attraction). Very cool! We took our pictures and skedaddled.

Kathy Parnell — Google review

It's definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in the area and have some time to spare. However, if you're not particularly interested in furniture or don't have a specific reason to go, it might not be worth making a special trip just for that.

Nature & Parks

High Point City Lake Park is a year-round park with a seasonal amusem*nt park and swimming pool. The park is located 10.3 mi (16.7 km) from the centre of Greensboro, and features a children's area. There are also rental boats available at the park.

My mom hosted my baby shower on 3/18 at the newly renovated event center. I cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful space! John, Kaitlyn, Josh, Olivia, and the remaining staff have been nothing short of amazing for my mom to work with. They were all super attentive and supportive even on the day of the event. The room is the perfect size for smaller and bigger events, depending on the set up. High ceilings and beautiful, tall windows give the room plenty of natural light and add to the ambiance of the space. The kitchen is such a wonderful accompaniment to have and is right next to the room which makes transporting food a breeze. The bathrooms have plenty of room, especially if one needs to change clothes, and they are super nice. The modern feel of the building is striking and welcoming! They are still working out the kinks of the new system for things like Bluetooth connectivity. However, USB connectivity is available and easy to navigate for laptops and iPads. In short, this place and the staff are a 10/10! I highly recommend booking the newly renovated event center for your next event!

We went over the weekend and were excited to sit on the rides but unfortunately they were closed and for the boat ride you have to make a reservation in advance. Beside that the lake is kept nice and clean, they have huge shelter, play area, got a chance to see diverse and friendly people there.

Mariam — Google review

We really enjoyed visiting this park from out of town including their newly rebuilt playground. The playground sits in such a lovely spot overlooking the lake but yet is fenced in to keep little ones safe. Be aware however that the rides are closed down in the winter.

Jessamyn Farrell — Google review

I go here a lot to fish with my daughter. Great place and peaceful when you're out on the lake. I may not catch a lot of fish, but I do catch a lot of peace and quiet.UPDATE: Just want to comment that the marina staff is very polite and professional. Someone there can tell you something about the lake if you have a question. Went to nearby Oak Hollow for a day to fish, and I sure did miss the excellent staff at HPCL.

Ren Calamba — Google review

Very quiet, relaxing and beautiful place to visit! If you are having a gathering at one of the shelters, the Ducks are so used to people, they walk right up to you to ask for a snack! Grounds of the park are kept incredibly clean! This was such a relaxing experience today, that we will definitely be going back! Looking forward to a lot more time spent here in the very near future!

Kimberly Wood — Google review

Been coming here for years. Great park and they take care of it. Taught my youngest how to fish here this weekend for the first time. Bank fished on Saturday, and rented a boat and trolling motor on Sunday morning.Had a wonderful and memorable time.

Ren Calamba — Google review

Clean, lots of playground equipment for kids. Has train, carousel, putt putt course , lots of picnic areas and seating. Lake is beautiful and has water gear you can rent. Very nice park.

Sue Heath — Google review

Really nice pool and very roomy. The snack bar is nice and worth the prices. The entrance fee is a bit much and the bathrooms weren't what I thought they would be. I still think it's an overall nice pool to visit.

Wendy M — Google review

This is the most fabulous place to spend the day with family and friends! There is so much to do, from swimming to train rides, fishing and so much more! The prices are fairly cheap and the workers are so amazing and patient!!

Rorie Rorie (RareBreed Design) — Google review

We went later in the day. It looked really nice. I can't believe I've never been here before. I definitely want to go back when we can spend more time there and enjoy all there is to offer.Went back today 9/7/23, it was beautiful and quiet. I have to say I really wish ppl would clean up after themselves more!

Laci Banks — Google review

This park has it all, Olympic size pool, lazy river, three slides and a water playground. It's all brand new. If you like fishing, the park has a marina with boat rentals. In the fall, they offer scenic pontoon boat rides showing off the beautiful fall colors. They have train rides and are in the process of getting a new play ground for the little ones. My favorite part of the park is going there after a big rain and watching the power of the water rushing over the dam.

Larry Burns — Google review

It's such a great park, beautiful and clean! So much to do and enjoy here. Friendly, welcoming staff too. The newly renovated pool is fantastic. I like to park at Piedmont Environmental Center and walk the trail and the new bridge over the lake into the park. Dog friendly!

High Point Park is a nice surprise. It has picnic shelter and a big playground for kids. There are big boat rides into the lake at reasonable prices. The office gives some other permits, too.The park has some paid activities too. Carousel 🎠, mini train, ⛳️ golf, etc. There is new construction going on for new picnic shelter and water park.Entery into the park is free.Restrooms are available. Lots of parking space.

Visited from out of town. Cool park with many options. Several pavilions and trails to walk. Will come back when I return to the area. The ducks were very friendly and walked right up to us.

Took my grandson here for the afternoon and we had a blast! Not too crowded and enough places to set up for lunch / snack time or just to take breaks. Plenty for the kids to do. We loved it!

Very much enjoyed camping here with my son's. Campsites are nice enough and easy to get to, clearly marked. Bathouses we're better than expected. We camped right on the lake and the boys fished all day and night. Caught plenty of channel catfish. Will go again!

Mark Conneway — Google review

This was a fun stay. Was there for 7 days and it went fast with lots to do in the area. Staff was easy to work with and kept the park up well. Our spot (B9) was secluded with the neighbors a ways away, and an easy walk to the lake! Will go back if in the area.

Jim McMichael — Google review

A wonderful group camping location on the lake....very spacious and cared for... Staff are responsive and understanding... Water pressure on site is plentiful... Views from the campsite are what we hoped for... Unfortunately, there are planes from time to time overhead... But not bad... Bathrooms and showers are well kept and hot water is plentiful... We will definitely be rebooking again...

A nice relaxing area. Currently free to enter. The sign says no charge to enter until March 31st. Plenty of parking . Plenty of kids were there on a weekday. There are places to change clothes, grill, relax and have a good time. Alot of trees for shade and open area if you want to get some sun.

ladi da — Google review

Great water front campsites (tents) and nice spacious pads with power just behind them (have power hookup). Can’t beat the cost for a couple night rental. Swimming was good and the water is super warm (it was early August), great to lounge and just relax in, just don’t expect to take a dip and cool off 🤣

Zachary Parchomenko — Google review

The water level is too high because of recent storm. The ramp was completely flooded and in some places parking spaces are completely submerged in water.

Madhu — Google review

Great Day Trip! $7 parking fee for all day long. Grilled right next to the beach at a picnic table. Parked in the first entrance and i love that the water was shallow enough for my 5 year old to play in. She ad a great time at the park as well.

Alee Hernandez — Google review

Love this lake! My papa is a regular here he drives here from Durham. He goes to this lake almost every week. Caught some great fish here, lost my biggest fish I ever caught and made some awesome memories

Haley — Google review

It would have taken a 5 star review, if it was not for a situation we encountered on our second night there. Around midnight on Saturday (Sunday June 2, 2023), the campers in the campsite before ours began to argue loudly, screaming and using profane language. My daughter, a minor who has special needs and could not sleep, shouted "please shut up", to be answered by foul language. We contacted the park rangers and explained that their argument had become physical, also there had been statements of a knife or the threat of stabbing. 45 minutes later, rangers showed up, as the altercation had come to an end. Aside from this, we enjoyed the park and lake, my kids love the place and we will continue to go, but do recommend as an expert in the safety/security/enforcement field, to have a better response time for volatile situations as this, as this could have turned into a life threatening situation, without the involvement of other campers, not the rangers.

Ricky Bonilla — Google review

Love the set up of the sites and scenery. Facilities are very clean. Most campsites are level and are easily accessible for rv parking. Only gave a 4 rating due to no water at campsites as it is still winter. Currently here (February) and Temps are in the 70s. Attached pictures are of campsite C19 in Poplar Point.

Michelle Bayless — Google review

Just beautiful 😍 I stayed at the Poplar Point section. The RV sites are far enough apart so as not to disturb your neighbors. Many of them double as tent sites.I was surprised to learn that they just installed 50 amp service as well⚡Nice walking trail🥾🚶

Michael Scott — Google review

Really lovely campsites on Jordan Lake. We didn't have direct access to the water, but could have selected a site closer to the water if I wanted to.This time of year, the bathrooms are locked during the week (which was on the posted info but we didn't really pay attention so it was a bit of surprise for us).We love car & tent camping. Loved the clean and freely available bathhouse. Good privacy this time of year.My only word of warning: be prepared to be "inside" of wherever you are sleeping when the sun sets. The yellow flies and other flying bugs came out and were relentless, even with our tried and true thermocell. It's not unexpected being out in the wilderness, but should be known in advance. We will ABSOLUTELY be back for a longer stay next time!

Zoe Dean — Google review

It's a great place for a family outing, fishing, camping,They have 3 beaches. My grandkids loved it. You have to get there early in the morning, bring your food, drinks and don't forget the charcoal for the grill.

The American Tobacco Trail is a scenic and historic trail that stretches for over 22 miles through North Carolina. It follows the route of an old railroad bed and offers a picturesque journey through forests, wetlands, and farmland. The trail is popular for walking, running, cycling, and horseback riding, providing opportunities to enjoy nature and outdoor activities. Along the way, visitors can also explore local wildlife and learn about the area's tobacco farming heritage.

Great trail, this map marker is not a trailhead but rather just a midpoint on the trail itself. 22 miles!

Church

Sights & Landmarks

Duke University Chapel is a neo-gothic building with a 210-foot tower and 77 colorful windows depicting scenes from the bible. It is located on the west campus of the university, and its 5,200 pipe Flentrop organ and 50-bell carillon are worth a visit.

Don't let the name "Chapel" fool you. This place looks like a straight up cathedral! If you love the architecture of a beautiful church make sure to go see this one if you are in the area.Toward the altar on the left is the resting place of some of the notable Duke family members. Also to the left of the altar is a staircase to the catacombs where some of the past university of duke presidents have been buried.

Roger L'Heureux — Google review

It the largest Church I have been to. It is roman catholic themed, it has a crypt with resting place for the founders of Duke University. You can light candles. Get your pictures clicked in the Hogwarts looking alleys. And at 5 in the evening you can here the bells rolling. It is truly mesmerising

Historic landmark great to see. The historic Gothic chapel, standing at 210 feet and on the highest ridge of Duke's campus, features pointed arches and ribbed vaults. The stained glass windows help add color into the impressive structure.

Kevin Wang — Google review

Nestled within the heart of Duke University's sprawling campus, the majestic Duke Chapel stands as a testament to both architectural grandeur and spiritual reverence. As I ascended the steps leading to its colossal doors, the awe-inspiring beauty of the Gothic-style structure unfolded before me.The exterior, adorned with intricate stone carvings and soaring spires, seemed to reach for the heavens. As I crossed the threshold, a profound sense of tranquility enveloped me. Sunlight filtered through the stained glass windows, casting a kaleidoscope of colors that danced upon the polished wooden pews. The interior of Duke Chapel is nothing short of breathtaking. The vaulted ceilings create a sense of openness, and the air is filled with a hallowed stillness that invites introspection. The chapel's intricate details, from the ornate altar to the meticulously crafted organ, underscore the dedication and artistry that went into its construction.During my visit, the chapel hosted a choir rehearsal, and the melodic strains of the music reverberated through the sacred space, adding a celestial soundtrack to the ambiance. The acoustics of the chapel are renowned, and it's easy to understand why as the harmonies swirled and resonated, creating an ethereal experience.Venturing outside, the chapel's expansive grounds provided a peaceful retreat. The well-manicured gardens and quiet courtyards offered a serene escape, a stark contrast to the bustling academic life just beyond its gates.Duke Chapel isn't merely a place of worship; it's a sanctuary that transcends religious affiliations, welcoming all who seek solace and inspiration. Whether one comes to marvel at its architectural splendor, attend a service, or simply find a moment of quiet reflection, Duke Chapel stands as an enduring symbol of beauty, grace, and the pursuit of higher understanding.

The chapel offers free tours that last about 30 minutes. Tours are available Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. There's no need to rush through your visit. Take your time to explore the chapel and admire the beautiful architecture and stained glass windows.

Beautiful, wonderful campus. Parking was a bit of a hassle, had to download an app with sketchy phone service because the meter won't work but that was forgotten when walking through the Beautiful campus. There were not as many AA students seen while walking, as compared to our visit to UNC chapel hill that same morning ... we did see a group of 20-30 having a meeting in the courtyard right in front of the chapel, so there's hope.

Chi-Chi Anike — Google review

If you haven’t been to the Duke University Chapel, it is an absolute must! This was my second visit. Growing up Catholic my mother and her family frequently visited beautiful churches around the world. She is gone now but I know she would have put this chapel at the top of the list in beauty! There is a crypt. In fact, five Duke dignitaries are buried in the basem*nt of the chapel.Take your time and walk around. This place was meant for meditation and reflection.Check out my videos and pics.Enjoy!

It's a nice chapel, with beautiful buildings around. There was a bride and groom taking engagement photos. A must visit when you are in Sarah P Duke gardens. Yes, go and enjoy

Absolutely stunning architecture! Beautiful and well maintained. The choir sounded so good you just sit in awe for a little while

Milana K — Google review

Obviously this place is historic and gorgeous, but the real trick is to follow their calendar and see when there are free musical performances. I saw an Organ specialist play a recital and although it was not exactly my cup of tea it was still really cool, especially when he played the second set on the older, more traditional Organs (they were louder). There are upcoming free choir performances. Definitely worth checking out.

Fit Gear Hunter — Google review

We did the Duke Chapel guided tour which is free and open to the public. We were introduced to the beautiful history, architecture, significance, and traditions of the Duke Chapel and truly enjoyed it. The chapel is known for its gothic style architecture but one has to go inside to be able to appreciate the intricate woodwork, stained glass windows, the organs, carillon, and more! Parking is available at the Bryan Center garage on a first come first serve basis.

Sampada Chavan — Google review

Duke Chapel is stunning. Wonderful place to visit if you're in the area or walking from Duke hospital. It is such a warm welcoming Chapel. A respectful receptionist was waiting offering assistance and a great information on the Chapel and also a cute story about the two mice ( I won't tell you the story you'll have to go see for yourself). The offerings of this chapel is quite amazing. The public is free to enter and be a part at anytime. Be sure to check of the music events etc. Go and pray 🙏❤️

Suzie Jackson — Google review

Such a prestigious place. Historic. Top scholars. I don't believe you can take a bad photo of this place. Duke will forever possess a legacy of excellence. From those who teach to those who learn.

Corbin B — Google review

It is the Jewel of the Duke campus and if you are lucky enough you will get to experience the organ being played on your visit. Take your time and enjoy the ornate glass, wood and stone while taking in the music. Explore all the chapel has to offer with its many nooks and crannies. From the side chapel to the vault in the basem*nt and the exterior is as spectacular as the interior which includes a cloister like courtyard to the right.

Christopher Kearney — Google review

This Chapel is just so beautiful. What an incredible experience. I've attended both church services and concerts/musical events here. The acoustics are perfect for choral events. If you haven't seen Handel's Messiah here, then you absolutely must. Just beautiful.

Gardens

Sarah P. Duke Gardens is a large botanical garden with many attractions, including a wildlife garden, koi pond, and amphitheater. The gardens are located on the Duke University campus in Durham, North Carolina.

It's absolutely stunning, and it's a fantastic spot for a scenic stroll and photography. There's a lot to see, so you'll probably need to come back a couple of times depending on your mood for a long, long walk. A beautiful body of water with this adorable red bridge is only a small part of the scenic beauty that this park has to offer. It's also completely free. ( Parking is only $2/hr) unfortunately gift shop was closed because of private even.

This place is amazing! Fun for the whole family if they are able to appreciate beauty. Notice: Wear walking or supportive sportswear because there's lots of different attractions and trails. Might be too large of a walking area for toddler's and young children.

paisleygirl — Google review

Probably one of the most well laid out parks I’ve visited, and this was my first time visiting. The only bummer was that there were some areas closed off due to landscaping so I wasn’t able to get photos there, but this park is a nature enthusiast or photographer’s dream. There’s such a broad spectrum of plants throughout the garden that you just have to see. The ground along the paths are pretty even which makes for comfortable walking since you will find something eye catching down every path. I wasn’t planning on going on a misty day, but the photos I took still came out amazing. Would love to do photoshoots in this location.

This botanical garden took me by surprise! It looks small from the road but it is quite large with plenty of walking paths. Even though it was moderately busy when i went it didn’t feel like it since there’s so much space to walk around in!All the flowers, bushes, and other plants are meticulously maintained and it truly is one of the most beautiful botanical gardens I’ve ever been to.

This place is such a beauty to behold! You literally feel like you enter a place of enchantment. There's various gardens with different themes. Many places to sit and enjoy your surroundings during your exploration. The gardens are massive, so rest areas are great! There's workers riding golf carts who you periodically see to answer any questions and give directions. Definitely an amazing experience.

*LOVED* this place!! We moved here from Idaho in September and have been exploring a lot. This has been our favorite place so far. If you are from here, you might not realize how special it is to have banana trees and bamboo just growing outside in nature under pine trees and elms and maple trees. In Idaho, there was only pine so you didn't see leaves change colors with the seasons at all. I can't believe how colorful everything is here!! It's the thing I had been looking forward to the most, and it didn't disappoint. There's a smell outside as you walk around. It's this earthy tree smell that is my absolute favorite smell in the whole world (tied for the #1 spot with my daughter's head and my dog's feet). It was a 76 degree day with a light breeze and it felt like walking around in a rainbow heaven. The grounds are beautiful and there's lots to see. I'm certain we'll come back frequently. That being said, I will give one suggestion. It's a little bit hard to get around with my daughter's wheelchair and it would be helpful if paths were marked with arrows showing which way to go if you're in a wheelchair. They had an info both but it was busy so we skipped it, and I'm sure they could have told us where to go. Alas! We had to backtrack a little bit here and there, but there were other ways to get around. We took a detour to the chapel which was about an 8 minute walk from the gardens, and we did have to go up some stairs for that part. It was so pretty though and barely out of the way. Worth seeing. I expected only one chapel, but the university has tons of buildings that look like ancient mini castles. I didn't expect it to be so utterly breathtaking.Back to the gardens, there were some gravel areas inside the gardens that we decided to skip. Otherwise, the majority of the gardens were very accessible. We all loved this place so much.

Beautiful garden .My wife and I visited in February and we couldn't believe how fragrant everything was at that time of year. We will definitely return in spring. Very nice walking paths with maps and signage. Dogs allowed in yhe mornings and evenings, which is awesome.Highly recommend.

One of my favorite gardens! So beautiful and much bigger than I anticipated. I loved the educational section on growing produce/farming for children. If I lived in Durham, I’d come here all the time to read, picnic, and take a stroll. And it’s free! (Just $2/hr for parking). Photos were taken 10/31/21, so some of the flowers weren’t blooming. Would visit again in the Spring.

Greeshma James — Google review

Beautiful gardens with even more various colors of flowers and plants all over the place. Gardens is maintained well and walking through gives you good feel all the way through. It's most famous for its natural light and scenery views for capturing your beautiful memories of any events or occasions😍 better carry strollers if you going with kids or toddlers as the walk can be easy with it instead of carrying them all the time.definitely makes you feel good and worth visiting this place.

Yes, please go there and enjoy the breathtaking gardens. Different plants and flowers, they decorate everything in a beautiful way. It was super hot, but we enjoyed every single stop. The entry is free, but you have to pay 2 dollars/ hour for the parking.

Wow!! We were blown away by how beautiful and well kept everything was. You do have to have cash for parking. It was $2.00 per hour.It would be a great place for family pictures and can’t wait to go back to have a picnic there. Lot’s of shade and areas to place picnic blanket and sit with the family. They do have restrooms around the area and it is very helpful with little ones.

Duke Gardens are a beautiful and tranquil oasis in the heart of Durham, North Carolina. The gardens are home to a wide variety of flowers, plants, and trees, from the Japanese Garden to the Discovery Garden. There are also walking trails, a lake, and a chapel. The Japanese Garden was particularly stunning, with its koi pond, waterfalls, and bamboo groves. The Discovery Garden was also a lot of fun, with its interactive exhibits and play areas. The gardens are free to visit, but there is a fee for parking. There is a small parking lot at the entrance to the gardens, but it can fill up quickly. There is also street parking available, but it can be difficult to find.If you are visiting the gardens in the off-season, be aware that some of the trees may be dry and without flowers. However, the gardens are still worth a visit, as the beauty of the architecture and landscaping is still evident.

Visited with my boyfriend last Spring and the scenery was gorgeous. Lots of different kinds of flowers to view, as well as walking trails. We also stopped at the little shop and bought popsicles to cool down. Great place to visit and lots you can do!

The visit to the Duke Gardens on the campus of Duke University was spectacular. Much of the gardens were still in bloom. The staff, volunteers and workers were quite pleasant, very knowledgeable as well as helpful. It was a beautiful day to spend walking amid such floral beauty. We brought a simple picnic lunch to enjoy at the conclusion of our walk. If you are in the area, leave at least an hour or more to enjoy this treasure.

Absolutely beautiful. Visited twice while in town and still didn't get to see everything because it was so big. My favorite was the vegetable garden which consisted of a compost and watering system and a bee keeping section. The workers and volunteers were super nice. There was a little building that sold snack and wraps that were delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. They also had a gift shop and area where you could purchase plants. The garden is free but you have to pay to park but the parking fee is reasonable but parking fills up quick.

Good place for relaxing. Lots of Verities of trees, flowers and plants. Good walking trail. Parking online $2 per hour. You can use free parking a few blocks away. Must visit between March 15 to 30 to see the full blossoms of cherry. 2 toilets, one in the main building and another in the middle of the park. A few free drinkable water fountains too.

I love Duke Gardens. It's my favorite garden in NC. I've been there many times in summer, fall, and spring. Every season has a different charm. The Asiatic Arboretum is my favorite part. It's like you're in Japan, walking around the pond, where you'll see a lot of wildlife: turtles, ducks, and I even saw a great blue heron, which was amazing!I went there today 3/14/24 the cherry blossom trees at the entrance are in full bloom! It was so beautiful, like a cloud of blossoms. The blooms should stay intact for about a week, depending on the weather. I recommend stopping by for photographs no later than next week and also visiting on a weekday to avoid the crowd. No entrance fees!

Durham Bulls Athletic Park is a well-known baseball stadium in Durham, North Carolina. The 10,000 seat venue has a unique bull statue on top and impressive architecture that matches the original Durham Bulls stadium. The ballpark is home to the Durham Bulls minor league baseball team and provides an unforgettable fan experience.

Beautiful ballpark within a great setting. Not a bad seat in the house. Plenty of services for food, drink, and souvenirs. Parking was easy with multiple parking garages close by. A must see park for AAA baseball fans.

We used to love going to the DBAP multiple times each season. Since covid, things have changed for the worse in my opinion. DBAP has gone cashless. My first minor issue was at the parking deck, getting slowed down by paying with a card because my card tap didn't work. When attempting to enter the park, we were close to an opening that we weren't allowed to enter through. We later exited though those gates. Would have been more convenient to have a ticket scanner there at the beginning. We had to walk halfway around to another entrance where there was a ticket scanner.Moving on to food ordering..keep in mind that we are 36 & 43, so we are familiar with electronics and screens. Our tickets were preloaded with $5 so we attempted to order at one of the first few stations we saw. There are now screens to replace people. 👎 We selected our orders and tried scanning our tickets multiple times and it wouldn't work. My husband tried and still couldn't get it to scan. We ended up cancelling after being there several minutes and moving on to another area since no one was there to help. We actually found an area where a person took our orders, but we forgot to order a drink and were looking for the discounted Bull Durham beer (on Thursdays), which wasn't available at the normal food places. Wasted a few more minutes getting one soda and the tickets actually scanned there. Discount beer wasn't available there either. There was a little area with fridges on the opposite side as the food places (near a bar), which had the discounted canned Bull Durham beer. This was the 4th stop we made! Ridiculous.Once you make it to the seats, everything was perfect. The opposing team (Jumbo Shrimp) would throw a ball over the net after each inning for the kids to catch. My son loved this, but wasn't able to catch one. He later walked up to their dugout and was handed a ball. Very nice guys! We noticed the the Durham Bulls quickly went inside, not allowing time for signatures, but the Jumbo Shrimp remained outside for a little while. If we had a marker, we would have asked them to sign the ball. After we walked back the the parking deck, we saw that we were unable to exit. Parking deck was gridlocked at our location (level 5) and cars blocked us in. We decided to go back down the stairs and took some photos near the Lucky Strike towers and the water. There must have been some event at the neighboring DPAC, which led to an extremely congested exit. We took about 20 minutes down near the water and it was clear when we returned to the deck.Overall, this is still a great family experience, but not cheap if you're on a limited budget. On discounted food Thursday, this was still about $120 with tickets.

Great facility to see a game, so much energy in the crowd. Love the atmosphere the organization and the guy that gets the crowd involved during the game is awesome. Day there was the kids got to run the field. Also as a fan of the movie, you won't be disappointed of the experience. WAY TO GO BULL'S... ya bunch of lollygaggers!!!!!🦬⚾️🧢

Amazing ballpark and atmosphere. For being a AAA ball club, this place is a lot of fun. There are a ton of food options as well as lots of draft beer stands. You will not be disappointed coming to a ball game here, every seat in the house is fantastic. Next time you are in or around the Durham area, definitely plan a trip here! 10/10

The seats were great and the concession has great selection of food and drinks. It's a fun and great atmosphere to take a family and friends out to enjoy a nice game during the weekdays or over the weekend. The Athletic park has great access and walkway from the parking structure located on each side. The fountain on the main entrance was great spot to meet and take photos.

I LOVE going to see the Bulls play! I grew up in Durham and have been going to games my whole life. The field and stadium are very nice. The eating areas, seating, and bathrooms are clean. They have a lot of activities for kids and adults. The fireworks on Fridays nights are awesome.

Great stadium, felt like a major league ball game! 😃 The prices are super reasonable. There isn't a bad seat in the stadium. The view of the park is spectacular from any angle. We decided to not sit in our seats and stood in all different areas during the game and it was great being able to walk the whole park and see the game form all different ways. It was one of the last games of the season and it was almost sold out, but the layout made it not seem that croweded. It is wide open and spacious. Great night of baseball and a fun spot to take the family for a night of entertaiment that won't break the bank!

Michelle — Google review

I have been to this baseball stadium twice with my brother. The atmosphere has been great. I played baseball as a kid. The Bulls mascot Wool E. Bull is loved by the fans. If you are ever in North Carolina during baseball season this is a fun place with great food.

Had a great time. It was dog night! How fun to see all of the dogs! Such a great idea! Mine will come next time for sure! He loves being out in public. The weather was perfect! Parking was easy.

This stadium is one of my favorite places to be. No matter who plays, the atmosphere, food, beer, and of course the Game are just the best experience ever. I get 10 game passes every year now and don't regret any of them! I pray Durham can get this mess with the MLB handled so we can continue to enjoy visiting!

Chazney — Google review

This is a great family friendly place! The staff is always friendly and helpful! I been going to Bulls game for many years and there is always a great time!!! Even when it's not a MLB game it feels like it and before/after the game there are may options around!!! If you haven't already seen them playing, I'll highly recommend you to try it!!! It's worth it!!! Friday night games always have fireworks!!!

We love the Durham Bulls. And we made it a girls night out. The hubby could not make it. We had great seats but all the seats are great in the stadium. We enjoyed the fireworks at the end of the game. The Durham Bulls is a great family, group or company outing. Win or lose the game is a joy to watch.. Go Bulls!!!

Nice upper end minor league park. Opened in '95 and has been continuously upgraded since. Bathrooms are decent, access is good, seeing is good from the box seating to the grass field GA in the outfield. Good concession variety at a ok price. One major restaurant can be frequented over behind left field above the "blue monster".

Joseph “Joe” Caruth — Google review

Bulls games are fun for even casual baseball fans like me. The ball park is beautiful, food options are plentiful, attractive extras like post-game fireworks are frequent, & attendees are usually cheerful & pleasant to be around. My family typically attends a few games each season, & we always enjoy ourselves. Going as a group is a terrific outing for a church group

We love love the ballpark. Lots of parking garages. Well managed exterior and interior. Right next to American Tobacco complex. So many food options. Watching the Durham Bulls is quickly becoming my favorite leisure activity

What a wonderful night of baseball (even thou the Bulls lost😔)! Easy parking at the South lot with prepaid tickets - worth buying ahead. We had dinner at Tobacco Road Sports Cafe above left field. When we were done we just walked through the small gate in the patio - showed our tickets and walked down stairs and into the stands. We were in Section 207 Row T under the overhang which put us between home plate and 3rd base. The stadium was clean with plenty of staff if you needed assistance. Great place for families and anyone wanting a reasonably priced night out to enjoy some ⚾️!!

Diane Mason — Google review

We picked the perfect night for a game on May 11. Slightly cool and low humidity, just perfect for a night out for baseball. And the Bulls started like a rocket with 5 runs in the first including a grand slam. It doesn't get much better. This is still America's pastime with folks of all ages and lots of families. Highly recommend.

Jim Williamson — Google review

We had not been in years. They have added whole new sections to the ball park! Many are suited to those that don't want to sit through a whole game. Great addition. Adds more views of the ball park too. This night the home team lost but a fun time was still had by all! Hats off for the Durham Bulls! Thanks for autographs and posing for pictures. And thanks for a banging fireworks display!!

Louise Martin-Carpenter — Google review

Great stadium with a good selection of typical ballpark food options. Free admission for military, just show your ID at the ticket window. Parking was $10 at all the parking decks around the area and it was easy to get in and out with minimal traffic or delays.

The Durham Bulls is an absolute MUST for anyone passing through the triangle. I've recently seen several games here and can't wait for next season! Food, drinks, and service are all exceptional and the atmosphere is very family friendly.

Probably one of the best minor league parks and experiences around. I've been to games with my kids over the past few years. This year we hosted 22 5th graders for my son's 11th birthday and the group sales folks were amazing. Highly recommend for birthdays, group parties etc.

Peter Weishaar — Google review

The most beautiful stadium I have ever been to. It is such a fun environment and we have been lucky that the Bulls have also been very good in recent history. Makes going to games even more fun when the home team wins. Also really cool to see players who will almost certainly be playing in the major leagues in just a few years. Even if you don’t live watching baseball, the his is just a fun experience. I highly recommended

Brennan — Google review

One of the best Minor League parks around. Not a bad seat in the house. Besides the usual ball game food, you have got to try the pulled pork bbq and a margarita. Great venue for the whole family.

Damon Taylor — Google review

They are the most iconic minor league team for a reason. They have their own "Bull Durham" beer available at the grab and go kiosks throughout the park. They also have dollar dog nights on Thursdays. I like to get one of the $10 outfield tickets and just roam around and post up at some of the bar/picnic areas. The Friday and Saturday night fireworks shows are better than some of the major league parks I've been to. Wool E. Bull is also the best mascot in the league!

Durham Performing Arts Center is an incredibly modern and well-known theater in the American Tobacco Historic District. It regularly showcases Broadway shows and major performing artists, like Hamilton. The theater has a capacity of 2,800, making it one of the top attractions in Durham.

Amazingly beautiful venue, not a bad seat in the house. Very clean. Lots upon lots upon lots of the color RED. Sound system was great. Bathrooms were clean, drinks were easily accessible and a wide variety of drink choices. I also like that the venue is within walking distance of good food.

I had to take away another star for the seating and the fact that they ran out of pretzels within minutes of the 20 minute break. The seats are definitely not good. They hurt your butt after about 30 minute so I definitely recommend a seat crushing come with you.Had to take away a star because someone decided to kick and beat my seat. Not happy with that.Show is good so far, though.Very nice, crazy but nice. The bathroom is definitely nice. Complimentary lady products are available in the bathroom also. I was there for the recent STYX concert and my family and I have no complaints. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. We were pretty much escorted to my handicap spot and my wife and son were shown the seats in front of me. Heck, I even had one of the staff, a bubbly, cheerful woman on the second floor interior of venue help me pull on my concert t-shirt I bought. I usually have to complain about handicapped service because it's just not very good most places. Here I felt just like another concert goer. They saw me the person and not the guy in a wheelchair.

This is such a nice venue. There really is NO bad seat in this place! We sat in Section 10, Row A which was the 2 level balcony for the musical WICKED. It was fantastic. The parking deck was very close to the venue with only a short walk. And checking in was seamless.

First time guest here, and this venue has the most amazing customer service of any concert hall I have been to. Top notch all the way. Beer and food were very reasonably priced as well. Most places like this, you’re just another customer, but DPAC was so welcoming and made me feel like an appreciated guest! THANK YOU!!

My husband and I drove 2.5 hours to see Bert Kreisher perform here. It was totally worth it! Entering the venue was a breeze and so was finding our seats. The servers at the concession stands were very friendly and the food and drinks were pretty good! The bathrooms were also very clean and the venue staff were very helpful with guiding us out of the venue towards the parking lot. We will certainly return here!

The first picture is the orchestra pit. The second one is the stage for Hamilton. What an amazing show. The theater is of course fairly new and just beautiful on the outside. They have several parking lots, so parking was easy. The interior is beautiful also oh, and very very clean, and very secure, with lots of service people two man the food and refreshment stands. Drinks and food all right bit cheaper then they would be at the Ballpark. All the employees are extremely helpful. And friendly. I'd go there all the time if I could afford a season pass.

DPAC is a nice venue, the staff is friendly and everything moved smoothly before we were seated. They offer drinks and simple snacks, there are alcoholic beverages from beer to a bar as well as a coffee station. The seats were nice and the bathrooms were clean. My husband and I really enjoyed our experience!

Abby Normal — Google review

Got great tickets to the jinx and dela holiday show. The show was right up my alley, a parody about religion, politics, consumerism, climate, miserable conflict, and people forgetting to look out for others... everything that make people appear and be ignorant. DPAC staff are super pleasant and helpful, crowd is fun and eclectic, and the view is pretty good from the lower levels, even the side section 4/Q/213. There seems to be complimentary coffee and tea. Bathrooms are big and clean. Multiple entrances and exits. The venue holds a huge crowd. The volume is a little too loud so that some of the singing numbers are difficult to understand and distinguish. Parking is nearby for $12, but honestly you can find street parking free just a few blocks around. It's nice to arrive to park around 45 minutes before the show, though this one started 10 minutes late, and lasted a total of 1 hr. 45 min.

Came to see the Nutcracker for a Christmas present. It was a well put on show, beautiful costumes and sets. The doors opened about 10 min later than it said so that felt a little frustrating as it became more of a mad dash frenzy to get to seats. However everything is clearly marked, so it was easy to find where you were supposed to go.The staff was friendly and attentive, happy to help and answer questions. It was nice that DPAC sent out quite a few emails in the days before the show regarding parking and traffic with specific rates and locations. I’m sure we could’ve found some free street parking, but we used one of the parking garages for $10 and it was safe and easy to get in and out.

This was my first time seeing a musical. I didn't know what to expect. This place is super nice and so clean! The lone tends to build during intermission but it went pretty quickly. They direct you which stall to go to and have hygiene products available. We were were on the third row on the balcony and we loved our seats! We could see everything. There were a few moments when I couldn't hear the audio. The cast and music was phenomenal. One thing to note about the stairs: they can be hard to maneuver. I am an aptuee and they made me nervous. Not unsafe... Just nervous. Wonderful time and sweet staff! Huge range of snacks and drinks. Highly recommend. I am getting a pretzel next time! They looked SO good.

Convenient and they have the most amazing acts that come to perform never disappointed! We just saw Wicked, it held up to performances I've seen in New York. Can't wait for our next adventure there.

Lysa Britt — Google review

Great venue, not a bad seat in the house. Very affordable garage parking $7, they didn’t take cash 10/14/23. Coming back, only one elevator was working and the line was long. If you are using the elevators at the theater, usually a long line, and it may take 4-5 waits until you can board, so plan the extra time. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Used the vending machine to get soda, 20 ounce bottle, charged $5. And don’t forget to visit the box office if buying tickets to other shows to save the extreme handling online fees from TM.

I personally feel it isn't a bad seat in this facility. I sat in the Grand tier for this event. I have truly enjoyed all the events I've gone to here. The staff is awesome. Here are some pics of Dru Hill from the Ladies R&B Kickback Concert Part 2 last night.

What a superb venue!! I saw an amazing musical done so well!! The people here are incredible, from waving us into the parking area, to scanning tickets or ushering us to our seats...everyone was super friendly and pleasant! Loved that you could bring food and beverages into the theater to eat at your seat. Rows are situated at a height where the rows below do not obstruct your view. Great place!

Karina Romanelli — Google review

Great place for live music and musicals. The facility is very comfortable with good views and acoustics except for the occasional big head in front of you. Try for seats near the middle sections 5 and 6 of the Grand Tier for the best value but the balcony view is also very good.

I went to see The Grinch The musical and everything was awesome! I really enjoyed watching an amazing performance. Please be kind and explain to children that it is rude to kick those sitting in front of you. Educate your children before you take them to an event. And don't start getting in the way when the performers are still on stage, I was impressed to see how many people started to leave when the performers were saying goodbye.

Noelia Bautista — Google review

This place is beautiful inside and out, so easy to navigate and so many bathrooms and food counters. The acoustics were great! All you could hear was the performer, not a peep could be heard from the raucous crowd while the music was playing. A lovely place to enjoy a concert.

Alana Schmitt — Google review

This marked my inaugural visit to the DPAC, driving from Greensboro to catch the performance by Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. Despite having secured tickets months in advance, a curveball came our way when my wife required foot surgery just 1 1/2 weeks prior to the concert. Concerns loomed over logistical challenges, including drop-off/pick-up and navigating her limited mobility at the venue. Our apprehensions swiftly dissipated thanks to the extraordinary assistance of Nancy, an outstanding parking attendant. Addressing all my questions, she guided us to optimal parking to ensure proximity to the front door. Even before entering, multiple staff members inquired about our needs, offering to provide a wheelchair or any necessary assistance. Upon entering, we were efficiently ushered to the elevator and directed to our seats.Enter Donna – truly exceptional! She engaged with us, discussing options to enhance my wife's comfort and guiding us to the most convenient route to the restroom. I cannot praise her enough for the stellar service provided. From beginning to end, it felt like a Red Carpet experience. And, of course, the show was nothing short of amazing in this fantastic venue. :)

Ledisi tour was great. Saw her a few years ago. She really gives a great performance. Her new music is on target for today.Looking glamorous and sounding even better than soft butter on perfectly brown toast.

Gail Bryant — Google review

Good acoustics, great show, the typical tight rows of seating. No enforcement of not using cellular devices during the show. My neighbor was watching gymnastics throughout the first act, the filter did not make it less distracting.

Reuben Moore — Google review

Well, we came to see JP and when I bought the tickets, I didn't see anything indicating a handicapped or companion, so I bought aisle seats thinking I could be ok there. I didn't realize there were stairs leading to the seats when I bought them and was stuck. Fast forward to our wonderful usher, ZEDA, coming over to ask if we needed any help. She immediately took charge, radioed to the others and asked if there were any more open handi spots and got us situated in no time flat. Plus, I inquired about what spots to book for future shows since this was our first time here and she pointed them all out!! She went above and beyond to help us and I will be booking many more shows here just because of her. Y'all made a wonderful choice hiring this young lady and even though we didn't converse with many other ushers, they all seemed very happy to help when necessary. Thank you for making this a wonderful evening!!

The North Carolina Museum of Art is a world-renowned art museum located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The museum attracts more than two million visitors annually and houses a permanent collection spanning 5,000 years. The museum also features traveling exhibits and an outdoor monument park and amphitheater.

What a nice community resource! The grounds are lovely. This is both an indoor and outdoor experience. The West Building has the permanent collection, and it's very decent with a few big names (Raphael, Monet, Rodin). Loved that everything is free. Lots of outdoor space designated for events and short walks/hikes.

Michael Stephens — Google review

Gorgeous place! We usually go there to walk outside and there is lots of space to spread out from other people. What I especially love is that the grass is all natural (not an urban desert like many people’s lawns) and they have wild flowers planted throughout the area. Not only the wild environment looks absolutely stunning but it also supports bees and other insects. If you look closely, the grass has wild clover mixed in which is a native flower and feeds rabbits and other wildlife plus it’s drought resistant and stays green all summer long. It doesn’t grow long so you don’t have to mow as often if at all. We need more (or all) lawns to be natural to support our wildlife. Plus it’s healthier for people too.Another great thing - the NC Museum of Art is dog-friendly! There is a creek in the woods so dogs can quench their thirst there if you forgot water. I recommend all people who are travelling and need a place to stop and stretch their legs and give a break to their dogs/kids to stop at this place! Take advantage of this beautiful place and don’t forget to take pictures!Love this place! Breathe fresh air not pesticides!

Amazing outdoor art in rolling hills where one can picnic, fly kites etc. New building is big glass metal one, old is brown one. Both incredible with insane amount of very famous art. Great to go hang out and do own sketches/art of what you see or feel. They have wee seats one can borrow as well a wheelchairs and walkers for those with impairments

Beautiful museum. We came for the Dutch Art exhibit- it was spectacular. I generally prefer 1-2 hours at the museum, here I was happy to stay for several hours to take it all in and I’d happily return. Our local family purchased memberships which seem really worth it. Cafe was decent- great cappuccino, sandwiches were not bad, salad had great dressing. The outdoor grounds are beautiful and lots of fun for kids and adults!

This place is free all throughout the week The common ground is the free access. there are paid parts of the museum there are paid exhibits. But there is enough there to view for 3 hours of free fun and that's not including outside or reading all of the notes we came in about 12:00 and still left as they were closing. We had a great time. There are also two different buildings that have different exhibits in them. Will definitely be back soon. My favorite part was probably the cigarette machine or the old Roman statues. The cigarette machine has several different artists concept of art. It can arrange from pictures to portraits to sculptures. Definitely read signs around the exhibits some say don't touch some even say do not enter PLEASE READ THE SIGNS AS WE DEFINITELY MADE SOME MISTAKES AS WE WALKED AROUND THE MUSEUM FOR OUR FIRST TIME.

The entire experience at this museum was exceptional!Outdoor areas are great, very peaceful and lots of sculptures. There is a lot of walking involved, so wear comfortable shoes. There are multiple nature trails as well as the outdoor exhibits, they are very relaxing and you can rent a bike. We also had lunch at the cafe and would recommend. The indoor exhibits are simply amazing! There is something for everyone, from Renaissance portraits to the ancient Egyptian collection to the Roman mosaic to the modern art. There is so much to look at and I would have spent a whole week there wandering around. There is also an interactive area that is fun for little and big kids, and even adults.Everything about this museum is great, and I would definitely recommend this for any art lover.

This art museum was under construction when we went but they still had a lot to see. We saw the very cool exhibits inside and they have a vending machine to purchase little handmade art pieces, which was a lot of fun and we got some cute things. The best part was the outdoor exhibits. They have amazing architecture and I want to return soon! It is also a great walking track for families and pets. Tons of parking.

This is a fabulous walking area. Dog and bike friendly too. There are benches and vistas aplenty.A gorgeous combination of meadow, shady woodlands, pond, hills, and resting spots with large scale sculptures and native floral. There is a lovely bee garden with hives and plenty of healthy activity.A must if you are in the area. Open dawn to dusk, plenty of parking. Over 5 miles of trails, I didn't even cover half. The general art museum is free as well, but I didn't have enough time for that.

Absolutely beautiful museum with stunning outdoor spaces. Saw a family having a picnic and people strolling (and biking) around. I was fortunate enough to see Ruth E Carters exhibit and it was so captivating to see her career accomplishments laid out with thorough background information. The amount of research she does for her costume design is above & beyond. I ran out of time to finish seeing the exhibits in the second building, so I'll have to return!

Free admission !! Best museum I have ever been to. There are so much rare ancient pieces in the West building. There’s also a large park outside where you can walk around, or ride bicycle. Huge parking lot with some shaded trees. You can spend the whole day there. Highly recommend it, we really love it there.

Khem Eamolarn — Google review

We had a great time at this museum! We went with a school group with the Expedition School. The focus was on art made by women and on art made of recycled and found objects. The NC Art Museum offered a excellent docent who taught us about many of the works on display. Our teacher had worked with the museum in advance to create a scavenger hunt for the kids to find the art that will fit into their future science, ELA and Art projects. I’ve been to this museum many times before on my own, but I really appreciated how they handled having a slew of middle school kids trying to navigate their assignment. Excellent space and we loved the art!!

Amy Gelber — Google review

An awesome experience if you're looking for something free to do during the week. The art selection is diverse so I feel like there is something for everyone. Take a moment to enjoy the artwork and then head outside for a walk around the museum park pathways. Any day of the week you will find locals going for walks, having picnics, or hanging out with friends.

Renee Adamonis — Google review

Easily one of the most incredible museums I’ve ever been to! Top 5 for sure. Such a hidden gem. Really thoughtful curation, juxtaposing contemporary & classical art with interesting text. Gorgeous space. Epic permanent collection.

Miriam Carothers — Google review

This place is free? I just don't understand how this huge place is free for all to enjoy. Amazing grounds, fun sculptures, interactive art, nature beautifully maintained, extensive walking trails... I could go on about the unique gem that this place is, but instead I say go see for yourself. All the amenities too, free parking, access to a cafe, bicycle rental, great places to relax and take a break. The only thing that it might be worth knowing before going is if you mainly want to stay indoors call before you go, on our particular visit the west building was closed and the east building has a large number of exhibits getting redone, so if you plan was not to be outside and walking around talking it all in you may not have enjoyed it as much as there would be limited things to see.

Simi — Google review

We went to see one exhibit and quickly realized we should have allowed more time to see the rest of the museum. Loved Afrofuturism. We also had tickets to the outdoor concert featuring Samara Joy. Rain was predicted for the day and hours before the concert was to start I got an email that arrangements were made to change the venue indoors. Brilliant! Bravo to the museum and staff for making this happen.

This is a great thing to explore with your family in Raleigh. They have a lot of knowledgeable staff that works here as well. There is a never ending amount of things you can learn about in these museums. It’s very clean and very cool. It is also free entrance so if you have a big family and looking for something cheap/free to do. I would highly recommend the art and science museums! In the science museum there is a live butterfly exhibit!!

We honestly only walked around outside. But it is a beautiful stroll with plenty to see, read, and do. You can bring your little ones and see sculptures and nature combined for free. It was a great walk on a fall day.

Came here with my boyfriend about a month ago and had a great time. Their were two different buildings, one consisting mainly of art, and the other with a dining area, store, and more art. There were also several outside areas to explore. All the art was very unique and engaging. I would like to mention, their is no admittance fee or anything, unless you want to view the private room. Would definitely like to come back and see more of what the outdoor areas have to offer.

Lilie Wilkinson — Google review

Art in bloom was spectacular! My nephew blessed me with behind the scenes experience. A lot of work, but worth every smile you saw!

Rosa Tilley — Google review

A multifaceted place with both indoor and outdoor options. It was just a tad cold for us, so we did not explore the trails (but would very much like to.) It definitely seemed like a regular destination for local folks to visit for outdoor walks with families and with their dogs!Inside it has both the formal/historical, and the more current/local, types of exhibits —in the west and east buildings, respectively. The range of the formal presentations is impressive (I.e., African, European, American, Egyptian). Also, their use of unified/simplified large digital touchscreen displays is both very attractive (less clutter) and very effective. They have even used technology to make ordering food at the restaurant/cafeteria easy, right from your seat. Pretty cool.Being slightly out of town makes them easy to get to and easy to park, all for free.If you like museums at all, this is an easy choice to be sure to include in your visit to Raleigh.

For a free place to visit it was outstanding. I was shocked to see so much art from so many different places and times. Requires quite a lot of time to properly enjoy it all. Nice grounds too, for a good walk

This museum is amazing. We didn't realize how big it was, and came after 12 pm on a Saturday and only had time for the West building. We came back on Sunday and spent the whole day doing the East building and outdoors. You can easily spend days here. There's so much to look at, and the paths outside are great, mostly all paved, and extensive. The bathrooms are clean, and each building has a free locker area to lock up your jackets/bags while you're walking around.

Dani Drugan — Google review

Absolutely stunning. I was impressed, both by the exhibitions and the park. You'll need a full day if you really want to delve into the collections. The staff is extremely friendly and the lighting is most of the time ideal, which really stimulates our contemplation of the pieces of art on display. Plus we were warmly welcomed, we really appreciated the passion that the staff showed.

From history to modern art, paintings to sculptures, metal to fabric, visuals to audio, indoor and outdoor - here's a little of everything! Must visit for a rejuvenating experience. Choose a day when the temperatures are comfortable for a long walk outdoors to make the most of your day

Sneha H S — Google review

Visited during my first time in Raleigh and I was blown away by the quality and the quantityof art on display. While the more contemporary artists were my favorites (especially Kehinde Wiley's Judith and Holofernes), there are also ancient and classical works as well. That includes a few Monet paintings, a Botticelli, and others.Rain prevented us from checking out the sculpture garden, but I'd love to go back and see it on a future visit. The café and gift shop were nice as well. The best part is that admission is free!

A museum that hits WAY above its weight. 🎨 10/10 worth going, not least because it's 🆓! (Donation suggested) Great variety of art. It has a surprising amount of antiquities too. It's a beautiful place to take a stroll around the museum grounds.

Park

Nature & Parks

Located in downtown Raleigh, Pullen Park is home to a carousel, miniature train, and many other attractions for the whole family to enjoy. It has been in operation since 1887 and is one of the oldest amusem*nt parks in the United States.

Beautiful park with a large playground for kids of all ages. The train around the park was more fun than I thought and great for taking pictures. There is also a place to eat and a carousel here as well, and plenty of restrooms. You can even take a paddle boat out on the lake!

Anthony Ferguson Jr — Google review

Beautiful public park with a great history. The old rides are really nice. I love how they have preserved the carousel, It feels like stepping back in time. Very family friendly with lots of activities. The rides I felt were reasonably priced at $2 each.

Liam Dobbie — Google review

This park is beautiful! Love the different types of activity you can do with your kids. The playground is huge and if you want to go for a nice walk, they have various paths you can do that with. Definitely recommend for a nice family day!

Kaini Feller — Google review

Amazing park rides are so dang cheap… kids will have a lot of fun.. each ride is like $2 to $4.We went on a weekend and the park was crowded.. but all the rides are fun.. my kid love the carasol..We went on the boat ride and it was super hot that day.. save your energy if you want it boat ride.. they give you 30 mins but you will be done in 15 mins..The train ride takes you around the park which give you a good view of the park..You can buy tickets online and no need to wait in line for the tickets.. Park is small and easy to walk around.. which I really like and you dnt get tired…

What a great park! I was in town and wanted a park to go to with the weather being so nice and I saw that there was a lot of reviews for this one and I decided to check it out! It was AMAZING! My daughter absolutely loved how versatile that park was! The coolest part of the park had to be the Marry-go-round! The paths are paved so they are stroller friendly. There was a lot of shade and places to sit and have lunch. There was even a little food hut in the park! We didn’t eat there but many people did! The coolest part was the music that was playing near the restrooms, gave retro vibes to the area and made you feel like you stepped back a few decades

Great!!! Awesomely beautiful park. Great views, great breeze. Good for family, couple ‘s day. A day with the kids. Picnic. Anything. If you visit NC you HAVE TO VISIT THIS PARK. Super recommended

Very beautiful peaceful park with gorgeous nature and playgrounds. Cool thing that it’s close to the city and can be easily driven to in 15 minutes. Haven’t been there at the busiest , parking was really easy to find . There is a beautiful small lake on premises as well . Overall pretty park for relaxing

Pullen Park is North Carolina’s oldest public park, and the 5th oldest operating amusem*nt park in the US.There are lots of flowers and gorgeous landscaping to enjoy while strolling around the park. And there is a little train you can ride that circles the park. The real highlight here however is the Gustave A. DentzelCarousel which dates back to 1911. I may or may not have pushed some children aside to make sure we got on the cats! There were also giraffes, goats, bunnies and of course plenty of horses. Took me right back to childhood. Well worth the $2 ticket price.Swan shaped paddle boats are also available for rent. Plus plenty of play areas for kids and some other interesting things to see like a retired train car.

David Ethridge — Google review

Randomly stopped after noticing this park as we drove past. Very pleasant discovery for us. A historical park, with wonderful landscaping, paved paths, rides, fountains, playground, and signage for the history. We were too late for the attractions to be open, but everything was beautiful.

William ?Maclind? Coley — Google review

Pristine park within the city of Raleigh NC. It is beautifully landscaped around ancient trees. It has plenty of paved pathways and bridges with benches and seating areas to enjoy the beauty from. There is plenty to do. You can ride a train, a carousel and paddle boats. There are picnic areas and playgrounds for toddlers to older children.

Eagle Mountain — Google review

We had such a good time at Pullen Park. I enjoyed riding in a paddle boat; you will see beautiful scenery around the park while paddling. There’s no long wait on weekday afternoons. The park offers many attractions for kids and families, including carousels, a train, paddle boats, and playgrounds. There are also some picnic areas, or you can enjoy walking around, and tickets are not expensive.

Nook Hanklang — Google review

This is a 5 star park but only gave it 4 star due to lack of parking spaces. Otherwise beautiful serene peaceful park with natural beauty surrounding it. Definitely highly recommend taking the train!

MindfulLiving Bellevue — Google review

This is a great park, not just because of the attractions and play area, but the history also. It makes it all the more enchanting. The train and the historic carousel absolutely delight my toddler, as do the paddle boats. Be prepared to wait if you go on a weekend, though. There's pretty much no wait on weekdays. There's picnic shelters and grills, and a great playground, with stuff for kids of all ages. The concession stand also has great food and treats, and the restrooms are very clean.

Allie Thurkill (Sock Thief) — Google review

Awesome park. There a lot of activities to do for all ages like train ride, playground, carousel, kiddie boat ride, Paddle boat and alot more. Definitely recommended. Buy tickets online to beat the croud. Lots of parking. Clean restrooms. Mist stations & water filling stations located throughout the park. Cafe inside the park.

A fun park for all ages. Rode the train which runs along the park boundary, it was a short lovely ride. This beautiful park has a lake with fountain and boat riding activity, walking paths, bridges, playing areas, kids activities, carousel, shelters, benches, kiddies boat ride etc. Well maintained restrooms. Parking available but may gets busy on weekends. It has no entry fee but activities are chargeable.

Chanchal — Google review

Had a lovely experience at Pullen Park over Labor Day weekend. We were able to ride the train, carousel and Kiddie boats. The cost is $2 per ticket and it's easiest to use your smartphone to buy tickets in advance. There are several different playground areas all designated to fit different ages. Gorgeous flowers and plants. Beautiful landscaping. They also have paddle boats for rent and a nice walking trail around the lake.

Chelsy L — Google review

Kids love this park! Can’t ask for more. A full playground, a train that you can ride around the park, a carousel, and a concession stand! During the warmer months there’s boats and other activities that we weren’t able to do, while visiting during January but there’s still a good amount of attractions for kids of younger ages.Park is extremely clean, staff is friendly. A good place to come and take a stroll too. Dogs can’t come into the playground area but it would be a nice place to walk them around the pond.

Katie Bevacqua — Google review

Our favorite park in the triangle! $2 tickets per person for the rides (train, boats, and carousel). And a fun play area for kids. The peddle boats in the pond were not open when we went at the end of March even though it was a warm day.

Allyson Urling — Google review

The park is beautiful and I'm absolutely in love with the cypress trees around the grounds. However, one really big problem that we encountered is that there was music playing over a loud speaker. I imagine that for most kids, that would be fine. Unfortunately for us, my daughter is autistic and music triggers meltdowns. It's a sensory thing. We were trying to walk to the park area to see if we could get her to play a little bit, and as we got closer to the music she got upset and we had to leave. It took over an hour to calm her down. I know that our experience isn't normal, but it would be amazing if more places considered children that aren't neurotypical and maybe could skip the music or have sensory friendly days or times without it. It's so hard to go anywhere outside of our home and parks are usually a safe place.I don't imagine that we'll be back because of this. That being said, it's a lovely little park and I think most kids would really enjoy it.

Holly — Google review

Beautiful family park. There is 3 mins train ride, kids boat ride, carousal within park.

Manoj Jagtap — Google review

a beautiful place to walk around… the train ride was $2/person - if you go during the week, the wait isn’t long at all.the big swans are picture worth as well.the playground looked great, but we didn’t have anyone with us to test it!

Brittani Atkins — Google review

Excellent place to bring the family.Clean and well kept. Lots to do and the employees were super friendly and helpful. Carousel, train, paddleboats and a kiddie boat ride. The playgrounds are awesome too!

Dina Hanson — Google review

We came here in mid February. The playground is very crowded yet a place to cool down. Train ride is entertaining with kids, and the same with the carousel. At this time, the carnival games were closed, but I’m sure they are as good as everything else. A great way to relieve your kids, and having fun yourself at the same time.

Museums

The Marbles Kids Museum is a nonprofit museum with exhibits aimed at children under 12 years of age. The permanent collection includes displays about play, imagination and learning. There are also interactive IMAX experiences available for visitors to enjoy.

Very clean. Masks required, which is great!! This is probably the best kids museum/activity center I've ever been to. My son is 2 and we could have easily spent 4 hours here. In two hours, we almost almost everything (but we were chasing our little guy all over).5 stars all the way. We will be back - many more times!

Must visit place if you are in the area. Plenty of activities for kids for all ages. Very interactive and creative set up. You can easily spend 4 to 5 hours and kids won’t get bored! Outside activities are totally different! Parking might be an issue, might need to find a public parking or street parking. Super friendly staff. Activities included but not limited to Arts and science, Drama, Electronics, music and much more..

Krunal Shah — Google review

What a great space for kids to come and play. So many great interactive exhibits and lots of room to get out wiggles and let the imagination run wild. All the staff we encountered we polite and helpful. Lots of unique play experiences for young kids to experience. My little had a blast and cannot wait to return.

Brittany Dietz — Google review

What a wonderful museum for the kids and adults to explore together! So many activities and learning spaces! My grandchildren had the best time taking me to each and every space and playing while pretending and exploring! The favorites were the Medical van, Veterinary office, farm, helicopter, creative space, Toddler Hollow, Money, Camping, and Hockey!Enjoy this time for ages 8 months (Baby space that is wonderful) and up. Make sure you have plenty of time. We missed a couple of areas because I didn't allot more time (3 hours) so I would say at least 4 hours if you have an active preschooler or older kiddo. We had a 1 year old and 4 year old and could have stayed another couple of hours. Fabulous eating area for snacks and an on site Café for those who want to grab a meal and coffee. We also don't do a movie which is an option that they would have loved. Can't say enough great things. Go here for a day and have fun!

Sherry Short — Google review

Must visit place for kids. Right in middle of downtown and many parking options nearby, this is a gem of place. Kids can simulate and play with ambulance, firework, helicopter news, painting, water and many other things. Price around $9 on weekday and $12 weekends. Promotion for bofa customers on price on a particular day. Purchase tickets online as they sometimes have a full board at site.

Danda Naveen — Google review

It was a nice Saturday afternoon. We had our nieces in town and what better place to take them to then Marbles.Highly recommend tickets in advance as they are $9 per, Vs. $12 the day of. The staff was very friendly upon entry. We were taken back by all of the rooms and activities. Easily can spend 2 hrs here. Great for kids ages 18 months and up to 10-11.There appeared to be a gift store and cafe, but we did not go to either.I highly recommend going here with the little ones.

Robin Mehera — Google review

SO MUCH FUN to be had here! All of the areas in this city block sized building are set up for hands-on Montessori style learning! Everything from a giant chess set and giant Legos to an exercise/game themed room with loads of fun, educational stuff in between!!!This was my first time visiting, with my friends' kids, and I think I may have had more fun than they did!If you're in Raleigh with children of all ages, this is an absolute MUST for a full half day or so!

D. Heather Campbell — Google review

This museum was really fun and my son enjoyed it. We got there at 1100 and it was packed already. I thought we’d only spend an hour but that quickly turned into three lol. There was so much to do that he was knocked out on the drive back home. He really enjoyed being able to color his own car and have it appear on the big screen. We will definitely come back.

jan tye — Google review

We got tickets in advance for the 10:30/11 time slot. Got there a bit later but that wasn't a problem. Easy access with scanning the tickets. The museum was very busy, but with it being the Wednesday before Thanksgiving it was expected. My kids are 7 and 9. They enjoyed the downstairs a lot but they enjoyed the upstairs more. The downstairs area is for smaller children I'd say. The upstairs is definitely more for the older kids. It's a lot of fun and you can easily spend the whole day there. There are plenty of hand sanitizing stations around the museum, there's an elevator, water fill up stations, a nursing station and plenty of bathrooms. The only thing I wish they would have had was free parking. You can street park and pay or pay for parking in one of the lots. But it wasn't a deal breaker.I definitely recommend this museum for children. We did not visit the cafe, gift shop or IMAX.

Pia Boje — Google review

Wow, this is a really really fun place for kids.. there is so much to do here and the ticket is really cheap..You have to buy the ticket in advance. You cannot buy on the spot, if all are sold out.We went on a long weekend and it was crazy busy and they were not allowing anybody to walk in to make sure you check their website and book in advance .Also, if you have Bank of America credit card the first weekend of every month, you get a free ticket .The weekend we went. It was hard to find a parking spot in front of theBut we can park for free at the Morse Square parking deck, but remember it’s only free on the weekends..We were there for almost 3 hours .. it was crazy busy when when we went, but one hour before closing it started to get free..Definitely worth taking kids..

Vinay K — Google review

I wish I could give more stars here, this place deserves it. Absolute fun for the kids of any age. Loads of toys, variety of plays spread across a two-storey building. Any kid would have a blast. Tickets prices are fair, ample public parking spots around the vicinity. A must visit place for the kids.

satyajit das — Google review

This museum is AMAZING. We live in DC where there are museums galore, but this one is fantastic for kids. You could easily spend an entire day here. My kids are 8, 5, and a baby and they were all very entertained. My only regret is not coming here earlier in the day to have more time.

Bonnie Lessans — Google review

Affordable and with plenty of things to do and see. The kids will have a full day packed with activities and things to see and do. Great place to spend some quality time with your kids.

William Geronco — Google review

We love marbles so much! Plenty of choices for kids with different interests. My toddler loves it here, he can pick whatever interests him and move on to the next fun thing whenever he prefers. Very safe environment and thought out designs.

Sunny Gu — Google review

Spent a delightful 3 hours here with 7 and 4 year olds. We explored nearly all of the exhibits and faced tears when we had to tell the kids it was time to go. Really clean, really fun and creative exhibits. The water table was probably the biggest hit for the 4yr old, followed by the room that lets kids color balloons and cars then projects them moving around on a giant city map. 7 yr old liked the balls in the “economy” exhibit. It was pretty crowded on a Friday but still totally enjoyable. Almost no wait- we got tickets online the evening before.

Laura James — Google review

We went on a Monday, there was a decent amount of people there. So I would recommend going on a Monday. There are a lot of exhibits here. My 8 month old enjoyed the baby area, there were a lot of soft obstacles for him to climb on. He also liked the toddler area, he could crawl around and there were some stuffed animals and some things for him to crawl on. I strolled him around to the other exhibits, he was too little for most of it but he enjoyed watching the other kids and splashing in the water table. The cafe outside was not great. I got a water and my daughter got a smoothie but the staff at the cafe were very friendly and attentive. There weren’t any handicap doors, which made it a little difficult with a stroller. I think we will be back when he’s 2, I think he’ll enjoy it a lot more! I would say if your child is walking until about 7 years old is perfect for this museum.

Theresa Novicky — Google review

Enough to do for the entire day. It can get chaotic on busy days so we go on off times. Love the outdoor and indoor sections. Kids love the sand. We enjoyed watch Polar Express on IMAX. We had no issues finding specking on the street.

Marc & Bella — Google review

Wonderful experience for younger kids. Place was clean with so many hands on activities! Lots of fun things to do from science experiments and water tables to learning about forestry, firefighters and carpentry. Reasonably priced but it fills up early. Go late morning or early afternoon to beat the field trips from multiple schools.

GeraldLaz38 — Google review

Great place to take children of all ages. I could have stayed there all day. The name is misleading if you are not a local. I expected to see how marbles were made and for there to be marbles everywhere games tournaments, make your own marbles..ext..Over all this place was a hit I enjoyed dancing to the music, the water area, the outside garden, basketball, trampoline, omg they really out did it with the variety of things to do. I loved it! My grandsons ages 3,2,and 1 enjoyed it.

Maria Leimbach — Google review

First time visiting. Lots of activities for young kids. My kids really enjoyed their time there. There is an area for toddlers as well as an area for infants. Must buy tickets online in advance. We opted for the 1 year basic membership. $150 covers admission for 1 year for 2 adults and all kids in the household. Opens at 10am but members can enter at 9am. There are two levels and two small outdoor areas. Parking can be an issue since it's downtown Raleigh. Street parking in the area is free on weekends and metered during the week. Kids will definitely enjoy.

Tim Bullard — Google review

March 24, 2024I... LOVED IT. I had a lot of fun going with my friend and her grandkids. I had just as much fun as they did (if not more lol).Definitely recommend! It's a place where kids and adults can have fun, and have learning take place (without realizing it!).Definitely can't wait to go back again!

Kristen Chason — Google review

This is a great place to take the kids. We especially enjoyed the hurricanes hockey area. We also liked the IMAX animal kingdoms movie. I took a star off because I usually expect some kind of free parking. I parked on the street not knowing I would have to move my car after 2 hours and I circled the block several times trying to find a new spot (losing time to play in the museum). Finally I realized there was a parking deck that I will use in the future that is close by (ended up paying twice to park). Overall this is a wonderful place for kids to play and the workers seemed cordial as well.

Jess Neu — Google review

Took a trip to Marble’s with our boys, and they had an absolute blast! They loved just about every single thing on both floors. The staff was friendly and helpful. The best part was the splash area, they had the most fun with that! Your ticket/sticker gets you all day come-and-go access to the museum. So we even enjoyed surrounding downtown Raleigh for lunch! Great place to spend the day with your kids. We would highly recommend!

Educational institution

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is the largest museum of its kind in the southeast and dedicated to natural sciences. It features a collection of 1.7 million specimens from every animal species and is spread across three campuses.

A large, poignant, nicely arranged collection of NC natural history from prehistoric time to now and beyond. So much to read and see and great interactive screens in Building 2 (don't miss going!) The building is really nice and well-planned. Nice customer service. Clean bathrooms. Great for all ages. Free and handicap-accessible. Free parking. In a great area close to other attractions.

This place has definitely improved over the years! It's definitely worth your time going. It's free to enter and the paid events are not expensive at all. The best part is, you could spend all day there and still not see everything! I especially love their dinosaur exhibit. My only complaint is I wish the dinosaur exhibit was larger and more interactive for $10 a person. But I was surprised that they move!

Ariel — Google review

Outstanding museum that continues to thrive and innovate. Currently under construction which is a testament to their constant growth. Big dinosaur stuff on the way! So informative and interactive. The exhibits truly come to life. The museum is free however certain exhibits are ticketed. Membership is less than $100 for families! You can’t beat that. A beautiful place to learn and grow. I highly recommend and look forward to coming back, I’ve been visiting this museum since I was a kid! I admire the progress and look forward to more knowledge and creativity. Stop by when you can!

What a great museum North Carolina had! I could spent a whole day here just looking how amazing they created the space. It’s spacious, detailed, and neat, and clean. The museum also has special exhibitions to interact with the visitors. With the amount of what they provide, it’s amazing that they don’t charge visitors to enter the museum. It’s a great place to learn and bring kiddos to explore. They have a cafe if you want to rest a bit and enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting for the kids to explore 😃

This is a free museum that is open to people of all ages. I was so impressed by their collections. It’s a 4-story museum with a breezeway that connects to research labs that are currently in operation. They have interactive exhibits that are so fun for the kids and adults alike. Watch for special exhibits that they are rotating through. Be sure to keep an eye out for some unique finds that are native to North Carolina and even more rare finds that exist only in this museum. The staff is very friendly and helpful!

Loved it. This place was massive and free. Two buildings, one was four floors and the other was three floors it took us about 5 hrs to go though the whole building and see everything. The bug exhibit was amazing especially with the terrariums of live bugs. Sadly the butterfly room was closed but we did see the sloth that was in their and got to watch him eat. They also had live feedings during the week. They also have a nice little Cafe next to the butterfly house on the fourth floor so you can watch the butterflies while eating.

Stephanie Vollmer — Google review

Amazing Place! I took my family here for the first time and had quite the adventure. There are countless things to see and do and I only wish I could've done more. They have almost everything you can imagine in a museum. From the Paleontology Lab to the Living Conservatory, From the Biodiversity Lab to the 3D Cinema, this place has it all. Whether you're taking your kids there to learn something new or just looking for a little bit of nostalgia. No matter the reason, this place certainly has what every adult and child needs.

Jared E — Google review

This museum is in downtown Raleigh and offers a nice variety of things to view and learn about. It is free to get in. The museum also has movies and special exhibits that require payment. Some of the areas close sooner than others. However, whether young or old, this place has something to educate anyone of any age. It is two buildings with multiple floors. There is a parking deck close by to park in, and it's just a short walk to the entrance.

Lettie C — Google review

First of all, this place is educational. Probably will learn more here than from a teacher. Second, it’s entertaining and can brighten your schedule. Lastly, it’s free, which makes it a wonder without any price that you have you pay. Located in the heart of Raleigh, this place is a must for any visiting people.

Very impressed with the amount of exhibits considering the admission is free. My small children loved it. Worth the visit and your donations. The staff at the Microbe viewing station were awesome. They let me 3 year old use a microscope. He loved every second of it. Very knowledgeable and engaging.

Robert K — Google review

We took our kids here while on vacation in North Carolina. They had such a great time looking at the dinosaur models. I was very impressed that such a neat place was free to visit. You can tell that all of the models were very expensive and well made. My favorite part was learning about space and all of the space rocks they have on display. They also have a really pretty butterfly botanical garden that is also home to a sloth. Sadly this area was closed to visitors being able to go inside. Overall a 5/5 experience, perfect for learning! I can't wait to go back when the kids are a little older and can really appreciate what it has to offer.

Angelica Denham — Google review

Little disappointed that alot of the interactive labs and displays weren't working on the nature side. We originally went here 5 years ago and now again in 2023. As an adult nothing has changed much. Kids enjoyed it as they were to young to remember our first visit. If you do want to do labs do them first as they close at 3.

What an amazing place!! Lots of natural science exhibits from reptiles to dinosaurs with great staff available to answer questions and help with the hands-on displays. Something for all ages from toddlers to adults and there is no cost to get in to see the exhibits. There are some things like movies and such that do have a charge, but with everything to see on multiple levels, we didn't have a need to see any of that. Every time I come to North Carolina, I am more impressed with the states commitment to quality of life for the residents here, and this free museum is a great example.

Tom Holley — Google review

Great museum! We spent about an hour there but could have spent the whole day. Lots of exhibits to check out, and lots to learn. There were lots of families walking around and enjoying the experience! They have some dinosaurs, spiders, bugs, geology, history, etc. very well laid out among the 4 floors with a cafe on the fourth floor. There is also a Sloth that you may be lucky enough to see like we did!

Jason Martin — Google review

Free admission. Worth your time. 5 floors of a very diverse exhibition. Very kid friendly. Cafe on the 4th floor for a quick snack. Bathrooms everywhere. Easy to navigate. Loads of parking nearby.Staff is very friendly, the mood is great. Variety of live animals (bugs, butterfly, etc)Must visit in Raleigh. Also a great alternative toMarbles just down the road.

Brian “CoFii” Adams — Google review

Located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, this museum is an excellent choice for a weekend getaway or a weekday excursion with kids. It boasts an impressive collection of live insects on the top floor, other floors included snakes such as copperheads, cottonmouths, rat snakes, and other snakes commonly found in North Carolina. The dinosaur exhibits were a big hit with the children. We also decided to explore the spider exhibit, but I wouldn't recommend it. There are far more captivating displays and a 3D film to enjoy elsewhere. What's even better is that there's no admission fee, and the place wasn't crowded during our visit. I wholeheartedly recommend this museum for families, kids, or anyone with a passion for spending quality time exploring.Parking is available in public areas, and even on a weekend, we found ample street parking.

Ajesh Rn — Google review

We go to this museum all the time! We have never been during Bugfest. It was absolutely amazing!! One of the ladies that work there told us it’s the biggest event of the year. They offer several insects for you to see and touch, they also have lots of vendor set ups outside, you’ll get to see people dressed up in costumes, face painting, and just a lot of education on the several different kinds of insects . My kids loved it. We had so much fun and look forward to going next year.

Shonda T. — Google review

the museum is rich in exhibits 3 or 4 floors, for all ages. About 2 hr walk through. You are your own tour guide. Best part is its no cost at all. You'll learn a bit of history on wildlife and science. The dinosaur exhibit was pretty cool. I was to scared to get in there with the butterflies though, it would be a nice experience if you aren't squirmish like me. Quite fascinating. Something fun to do if you're already in the area. I wouldn't suggest traveling more that 2 hours to get here. I don't like that there's certain life wildlife displayed in cases that aren't the appropriate length requirements for them to thrive in. I hope they are taken out at night or something, but don't believe they are. But overall all great experience.

Fun and educational place with lots of great exhibits. It was surprise for us knowing the museum is absolutely free to the public. Clean and very well maintained place. They also have canteen with good sandwiches and other snacks. Our favourite section was butterfly dome where we saw several species of butterflies. Love to visit this place again.

Great escape from the woes of life. Lots to do. I encourage everyone to come meet in the streets or one of the great places to sit and meet your neighbors. Clean, safe, friendly and convenient with lots of parking available.

Loved the small town feel. Had a nice lunch walked through the shops that have an interesting and wide selection of products.I was surprised by the art options available from painters, painting, framing you name it.

Cute strip just too small. If this is their "down town" there is much more needed. Cute shops and restaurants. Decorated for holidays and very pretty. Not enough to do. We were done in under an hour.

Wake Forest downtown is a quaint downtown, please enjoy this for what it is and support the small locally owned small shops. Buy local, if you are looking for franchises of the big sort or a large city downtown this not that place. Raleigh is your place. It boosts coffee shop, a few cafe's, brewery, Mexican place and great tapas place just to name a few. If you are interested in buying local and getting cool ideas from local arcticians you have come to right place. Keep in mind WF has humble beginnings as far back ask 1980's there were only 7,500 people in WF. Very unique and lucky to have this very cool downtown. #downtownwakeforest

A white rhino is among the 150 species at this 70-acre zoo, with giraffe petting & a meerkat house.

Totally loved visiting the zoo. A must visit place for all starting from kids to elders. Different kind of animals and birds. Totally enjoyed the place and loved feeding the giraffes and birds. The animals are really healthy and lovely to watch them.1. There is an entrance fee per person starting from 2 years old.2. There are 3 rides inside for kids and adults and 1 for kids . One is the Penguin Fall drop which was closed when we went, then jungle carousel for kids , Sky lifts for kids and adults , safari Train ride and a small play area for kids. The three rides cost $4 each.3. A very big parking in front of the zoo.4. You can buy food to feed the birds and giraffes.5. There are stalls with ice creams, fries and burger to fill in your tummy. 🤪

A wonderful place to get your steps and enjoy with your family. Not disappointed at all, it was a hot day but we still were able to see all the animals. Fun to feed the animals especially the giraffes and goats, baby hippos were just cute. We got the unlimited Ride bands and we used it mostly on the carousel and sky lift, the train got in an accident or something when we were about to ride so that was a disappointment for my son. The food and drinks are great. All animals looks happy and well taken care of by the friendly staff.

We did the Zip and zoo with our two kids, 5 and 10yo. Staff was great on the zip line and kids had a blast. Only issue was a 6yo girl ahead of us that was too afraid to continue; it took a long time for the staff to respond and offer to help. The zoo itself is well done and very funny. Kids loved feeding the animals.

Stacey Yarborough — Google review

Had an absolute blast with the family. We loved the more open look to the zoo with some free roaming animals and the use of moats over fences when possible. The birds were a huge hit with the kids, go ahead and get the sticks if you have kids they'll love it. Getting to feed many of the animals was pretty awesome and adds a hands on and up close element you just don't get at many zoos. The gift shop was extremely reasonably priced which was a nice change of pace. If you're in the area you should check it out.

My family went on a Saturday and had a great time . We got there around 1:30 and had plenty of time to enjoy the zoo . The zoo is laid out quite easily . Lots of the animals was out enjoying the beautiful day and all looked very healthy. The first zoo I have ever been to where a dog and a cheetah live together in the same enclosure . I thought that was a very interesting backstory. Only thing that disappointed was there were no lions tigers elephants out the day we were there. Not sure if they were in their houses or what but we didn’t see any of the above that I stated . Also we did stop and enjoy the wonderful funnel fries along with the ice cream it was such a night treat on a beautiful day . I’ve been to several zoos some smaller some larger and overall this is a wonderful zoo !

Foxxy Loxxy — Google review

Great day out at the zoo! Highly recommend getting tickets ahead of time to avoid the lines. Fun to be able to feed some of the animals too. The zoo is nice because it's pretty spread out so it doesn't feel too crowded, but it's small enough that young kids can manage walking the whole way.

Jenny Beam — Google review

Absolutely fantastic time! The gentleman who took us through the park was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. We actually were able to go and take a look behind the scenes. The gift was given to a friend of mine who invited me along for the trip. We did the orangutan experience. It was fantastic, definitely pricey but if you have the money to spend it would be a great experience for adults and children.

Jennie Baker — Google review

The zoo is the perfect size for a day trip. I spent approximately 2 hours walking around seeing all of the exhibits. There's a wide variety of animals and all of the enclosures are well maintained. It was a little busy when I visited, but that was due to several school groups being there. Come see the world's oldest African Penguin!

Kate Emerson — Google review

I've thought a lot about how I should word my feelings about this zoo and my experience. I'm somewhere between a 2 and 3-star rating. I love how fun zoos can be, so we continued our tradition of visiting a zoo each vacation we go on. This year we chose the Richmond Zoo, and it was not a show-stopper.We arrived around 1pm on a Tuesday, and there was plenty of parking. We stayed until about 4pm. There was no signage about the zoo from the highway, but you see it after you make the turn in. They might benefit from that free highway advertising if possible, and it helps with navigation. We purchased our tickets for $24 per adult. They offered us a 'zoo treat cup' to feed the animals, and it looked like kibble. I didn't like that you could feed almost any animal the same kibble. Shouldn't their diets be more customized? When you walk in, the whole place just doesn't have any color or pizzazz. They play no music, and their signage designs are all outdated. Don't misunderstand that, their signage will say 'new zoo baby! born last month' in the same faded and outdated design. It is an odd choice. Here are the good things. Their animals look healthy and they seem to provide a lot of enrichment. It was mid-October, and they were probably the most active animals in a zoo I've experienced. The place is real quiet and peaceful, smells real woodsy, and is rather clean all around. My husband commented that the lunch and snacks they sell at the cafe are probably the most reasonable prices he's ever seen, meaning they don't appear to have increased in a while. The zoo's kibble food comes in a paper cup, as their website states their hatred toward the damage plastic has on animals. They also have PVC pipes next to trash cans that are designed to collect the paper cups and keep them out of the waste bins, however, their design needs updating to help further reinforce the use of the PVC collections. If they were clear, and one cup was always inside, that's enough of a visual cue to the visitors on how it works. A picture of this is included. Walking around the zoo is very serene and the woods area they have is rather beautiful. They are also making strides toward expanding their zoo to new areas to house more animal exhibits. As you walk around the zoo, their concrete paths need fixing. There are quite a bit of uneven walkways, with clear potholes in the paths. I saw maybe one orange cone indicating danger. The day we visited, their penguin-drop ride was broken, as was their sky ride. I love sky rides, so that was disappointing that it broke just the day before we arrived (I asked the staff: when did it break?).They appear to have put a lot of trust on the visitors, as many of the animals have wired fencing to their cages instead of glass, so anything could be thrown inside, fed to the animal, or the animal could be pet. They had workers around doing their jobs, but really no one supervising to prevent abuse or danger. The saddest part of the visit was their poor farm animals. I am not an animal expert, and you can view my posted photos, but the goats appear to be grossly overweight, and I assume that's due to the unregulated 'zoo treat cups' and visitors just feeding them all the time. If I am wrong, I will gladly update my review.Overall, I unfortunately would not recommend a visit. I even Googled 'zoo red flags' and this zoo didn't really exhibit any of them, except for the pacing lions, but I didn't enjoy myself too much and wasn't impressed. They would highly benefit from a better marketing team to update their signage and stop selling the zoo treat cups.

Ashleigh Matos — Google review

Go early!!! Lots of schools visit during the week but if you get there when they open it’s perfect if you are bringing little ones. The train ride was a nice break. Reasonably priced, definitely recommend getting a cup of treats and a few bird sticks! The bird exhibit is awesome!!! Of course the giraffes are too!

Lisa Witt Lacy — Google review

Fun for families but starting to show its age. Feeding animals (giraffes esp) was a highlight. Mediocre food options and the “rides” are limited which is ok since it’s a zoo but it would benefit from an update to facilities and amenities. However, bringing the young ones will be a highlight of their week.

Forrest Cory — Google review

Very nice zoo. Well designed and compact. You're easily able to see all their animals and exhibits in a day, which is great. You can feed giraffes and many of their other animals. The park has a carousel and a small drop ride which is made for younger kids to ride. There are zip lines and chair lifts which allow you to see the park from up above and the tree tops. You can also take a short educational tram ride through an open animal enclosure where you can see the some animals safely without barriers (recommended). They have a nice collection of animals but would certainly love to see more (maybe some elephants). Their pride of lions are amazing and look extremely healthy and well kept.

Sandor Garcia — Google review

Went with a field trip full of kindergarten students including my youngest grandson. It was a beautiful day, and I just absolutely loved the giraffes! I know there's a lot that goes into running the zoo, but the entrance fee is quite a lot

Rene Seiders — Google review

The zoo is filled with so much to do. So many different exhibits to see~ I really enjoyed the bird sanctuary as well as feeding the giraffes. Make sure you get your animal feed at the front because they don't have the dispensers anywhere on site now. At least not that we could find. Really enjoyable experience. Not my first time going and it won't be my last either!

Garrett Ford — Google review

Great....I seen all types of animals with both 2, 4, and more legs. Some were fascinating, and others were unique. It's an experience of a lifetime that makes you feel blessed, compassionate, concerned, and sad that they are not free. They are there for our own selfish pleasure, but we do offer them a longer life free of predators and hunger. However, when you look in their eyes, you can see the sadness, and it makes you feel for them as a living creature.

Hands down best zoo I’ve been to! Definitely worth getting the annual pass, but the $25 single-entry ticket is still worth it if you only plan to visit once! Fantastic array of animal species to see and the park is clean, family friendly, and the animals are well cared for having more spacious and natural enclosures than I’ve seen at other zoos. My family and I will definitely visit again!

Brandon Smith — Google review

We had an excellent time here! The zoo was clean. We rode one ride over the rhinos, which was pretty fun! Our kids really enjoyed being able to feed a lot of the animals with the food cups you buy. The budgie enclosure was fun, with birds flying all around and landing on you to eat off the food stick you buy! My kids especially loved the peaco*cks roaming around. One came up super close and stole a budgie stick from my toddler, which made him laugh like crazy! The zoo was very interactive, and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. This is one of the smaller zoos that I have been to, and it's definitely missing elephants, which are my personal favorite. However, we still had an amazing time exploring this zoo and watching the animal feedings by the staff. The parking is free and it's a big lot! The only downside was that the staff at the entrance told me we had tickets for all the rides. We rode 1 ride, then tried to ride the train, but they wouldn't allow us on, stating we didn't have ride tickets! I forgot to sort this out when we left the zoo. We spent about 3 hours here and saw the whole zoo, we did not rush through as we stopped to feed animals and watched staff do 2 different feedings, the otters and penguins.

What a great place for a great cost! Took out little one and she loved it. Up close and personal to all the animals. It’s and older zoo but still has a ton to offer. Wil be back for sure.

Jason Nicholas — Google review

Don’t listen to all the negatives about this place. This zoo is amazing ! As someone who’s been to a lot of zoo’s , this ones animals seem the happiest and most vocal ! Had an absolute blast visiting here with my family. Lots of parking and they’re also adding more so it’s only going to get better

Francisco Ibarra — Google review

I love the zoo it was awesome and I’ve taken my daughter there three times already and I can honestly say that it’s one of the best zoos we’ve been to and we’ve been to dozens in Washington DC and all over Massachusetts and South Dakota and the zoo. Animals were very happy to see us and came right up to us unlike the other zoos, which seem like the animals very cautious of people, so the customers must be really great to them

Tyler Trent — Google review

This is a pretty “no frills” zoo and a few of the enclosures can definitely use some improvement. However, it is very interactive, which is a lot of fun and they are expanding it seems. Prices are good and it wasn’t very crowded when we went in January so, we were able to see everything and didn’t feel rushed.

Maymont is a 19th century estate located in Richmond, Virginia which is open to the public for tours and events. The estate features beautiful gardens and a wildlife center which hosts animals found in nearby rivers and bay.

Wow, such a nice day outing. This botanical garden is free to enter, has farm animals, several gardens, and much more. Saw ton of people taking wedding/senior pictures and having picnics. We arrived at 3pm on a Friday and the parking lot was packed but we were able to find the last one. I do believe there is street parking though. There are also public restrooms here. It's a hugh place so although there were a lot of people, we walked around freely without feeling crowded. If you enjoy botanical gardens, you'll be glad you check out this place.

Beautiful piece of history. I visited the mansion with family based on a recommendation and I enjoyed my visit. The house itself is very dark and moody, but in a very historical way. Definitely recommend making a visit! Especially to see the beautiful Tiffany glass, it’s the highlight of the home.

Ismaeli Rodriguez — Google review

The staff were genuinely lovely and happy to chat, the grounds were wide-ranging, extensive and easy to get lost in and the house itself was both interesting and well-explained by the audio guide which very, very delicately tried to thread the needle between telling you the history of the house and exquisitely dancing around some of the details of the history of the house, but that's kind of par for the course in this sort of place. Definitely worth visiting if you should happen to be in or around Richmond and looking for a bit of a wander in the open.Just don't trust the guidebook map, because I swear that thing was laughing at me every time I got turned around. ^_^

Paul — Google review

Maymont is just beautiful- we went in April and everything was in bloom. The grounds are extensive, so plan on a lot of walking as well as taking some steep steps to reach the lower river area which is a perfect picnic spot. Great place for kids too as they’ll enjoy seeing the animals and having numerous fields to explore. Can’t wait to go back!

ashleigh c — Google review

This is a 100 acre estate run by the Maymont Foundation and greatly supported by visitor donations. This is a grand historical estate with plenty of activities to do. You will burn calories just from walking around this rocky hillside park. The park is open to the public, but suggests a $5 donation upon entry. There are other charged options like the Mansion Tour. The grounds are well maintained and family friendly. Picnics are strongly encouraged. There is an Italian garden, a Japanese garden, an aviary, a petting farm, the Mayont Mansion (which was closed for the season)and a learning center (which was closed for the season). I missed season opening by a few days. At this time, a few flowers like daffodils are blooming. None of the fountains are up and running when i visited. I am sure this park is amazing more into spring. You can easily spend a whole day here. Well worth the stop.

John Hannan — Google review

I wish the ponds were clean and at least the ponds have water in the Japanese garden and Italian garden. It was cool to see wildlife freely roaming. Also no bathrooms or benches near the Japanese gardens. Both the waterfall and cascade had no water which was a missed opportunity.

Michael Allen — Google review

It was beautiful!! It's not very handicap friendly, but I tried to take on the garden. *The garden won. 🤫 I let the girls go. They really enjoyed the beauty of the place. Got a few pictures. It was super nice and cool in the shade. The model was very professional and vibrant!! Our model is wearing a flowing dress and her favorite shoes. I definitely suggest wearing sneakers... and an oxygen tank. A really nice guy in a golf cart gave me a ride back to the entrance because I'm old and fat. I DIDN'T DIE!! I did a lot of praying to make it back to my car. Here's some pictures and my breathtaking model!! Enjoy! I know this review is late because we went on a Saturday. I need time and life-support to recover. They had live music, but that didn't start until 6 pm, and we live in Norfolk!! I'm not driving at night! Trees, sasquatch, and probably aliens come out at night!! Don't act like trees are innocent!! I'll end my rant here. 10 out of 10 will let my husband take the kids back. If I have to go, I'm waiting in the car or near the entrance. GO WILD!

Tisha Foster — Google review

I had a great time visiting Maymont! I recommend doing the audio tour, because the information provided really enhances the experience of walking through the mansion and gardens. The Italian and Japanese gardens are also worth checking out! FYI, there will be a lot of walking down stairs and down hill to get to the Japanese garden, so plan accordingly if you're still recovering from leg day.

Great place to take your kids after school during the week. Great walking views even if you don't interact with animals. Also, a great place for a date. We enjoy Glow Garden in the fall season the best.

Stephanie Alston — Google review

This was a beautiful park that is free and open to the public. Certain things do cost money on a per diem basis but to explore the park, walk through the various gardens, listen to music, or participate in the activities hosted by the park are all free. The park is quite large so make sure you bring comfortable clothes, shoes, and water. There were several ideal places for an intimate or small family picnic too. Parking was free where we were, but limited so street parking may be needed. I did not see anyone on bikes or scooters so I am not sure if these things are prohibited or not.

Trent Heck — Google review

This is one of my favorite parks in the country and I've traveled a lot. I really love this place, I cannot stress this enough. There are tons of terrain options if you like a moderate workout.Wildlife is abundant and easy to observe, most of them will not run away from you in my experience. The park is very large and is a good hangout or picnic spot. Entry is free with a suggested entry price of $5 at the gate. Please donate to keep this park looking great 👍

We spent about $32.00 to walk through the living creature center and the mansion. ($8.00 per adult )… I would totally recommend the mansion was a good hour and half of our time…. The park is so huge and beautiful we petted at the petting zoo. Will return to see all we missed last adventure.

This is easily a must see spot when in Richmond. It’s kid friendly, family friendly, a great place for date and even for book reading! If I went to vcu this would easily be my study place. So much to see and explore here. The farm land is so great for kiddos, they get to feed the furry animals. The Japanese garden is a must see too, with ponds and lily pads and beautiful foliage. If you want to see vibrant flowers head to the Italian garden. There is so much photo ops here! The ultimate plus is this place is free.

Tia Delay — Google review

The Maymont Garden Glow is beautiful! The lights along the trails are just gorgeous. Food trucks, hot chocolate, and fire pit areas are so good and cozy. Cute things for kids to do and the carriage house was open to view various types of carriages from throughout history.

Sonya Sumpter — Google review

This is such a lovely place to go. It was so peaceful to walk thru the different gardens. The house wasn't open, as you have to schedule a tour. But it was still very nice and a lot to see for free.

Nicole Fitzpatrick — Google review

I love this place, I usually go with my grandson he gets to run and climb the trees like we see others doing. There's animals, the Japanese, and Italian gardens to wonder thru, then we find our favorite tree and spread out a blanket, and enjoy a picnic while listening to some music. This will be our forever place to visit. Donations are accepted.

Always a favorite. Walks(exercise) sight seeing, animal sights. If you are craving the zoo, come here, the take donations but it's free. You do have to pay for the indoor aquarium but it's worth it to me. Feed the animals in the children's farm or just walk around and spot the animals along the trails. Fun fr everyone. Sometimes they have vendors here.

Museums

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is a highly respected art museum situated in Richmond, Virginia. With an extensive collection of artwork from around the world, the VMFA strives to educate and enrich the lives of its patrons through various programming and outreach initiatives.

An absolutely amazing experience. It was raining so we couldn't enjoy the outdoors. It was so much to see. I would have to come back. Artwork and collections are beautiful. Definitely coming back!! A nice place for a date. Food served for a price the reflect the cost for buying from a museum.

100% recommend coming to this art museum! It is FREE and only costs $6 to park. What I like most about this museum is that there is an exhibit for everyone! Everything from Egyptian tombs to traditional paintings to contemporary art and even stunning jewelry and furniture. There is EVERYTHING here! I visited in January and had a fantastic time. I would recommend this place to anyone and plan to bring friends back. This is 100% the best art museum I’ve ever been to. I think it’s even better than the one in D.C. (way less crowded too). There are also tons of clean restrooms and a nice gift shop. You could easily spend 5+ hours here - it’s a spectacular museum.(10th time trying to post this review 🙄)

Victoria O'Tool — Google review

Amazing museum! Very family friendly and it has a surprising amount of art(50k pieces!). We spent a few hours there and still didn't see all of the art. Admission is free, but I would have paid to visit this place. There are Faberge eggs there! Definitely a must visit if you're in Richmond!

Clay Lanford — Google review

I've been going to the VMFA for 35 years and watching it grow has been kind of incredible. While it has had over the years some interesting and not so interesting shows that cost money to see, it's their permanent collections that really impress. We went on a recent Saturday and it was not crowded at all. We spent 2 hours looking and only got through the second floor in that time. The VMFA has a very varied collection, fine art of all periods, ancient antiquities, an elaborate silver collection, Faberge eggs and frames, Asian and African art, furniture, jewelry and all types of Tiffany pieces and art glass. You are allowed to photograph but no flash. It was free to get in but you need tickets to see some temporary exhibits that are visiting. This is the only place it seems lacking, most of these shows are of limited interest and not anywhere near as impressive as their permanent items. We had no problem with any staff. It would be nice if people visiting a museum knew had to act in public though. Talking loud, laughing, carrying on like they were at a mall and not a museum. Still the place is big enough that you can make the effort to avoid those people. The area around the museum is also very beautiful.

James Hampton-Snow — Google review

Museum has something for everyone. Great way to spend a day in downtown Richmond. The Faberge section was my favorite but also enjoyed the Egyptian items. Fiance is more into art and to see Picasso and Renoit in person is amazing. Gift shop has a lot of age different items to choose from, and Cafe for the munchies so you don't have to leave too soon. Plan to spend about 3 hours if you really want to appreciate it all. Cameras are allowed just without flash. Museum is free but tickets are needed for additional area such as the Samurai armor.

j Tolley — Google review

Great place to attend. New art. I love art. Art is part of me. If it's part of you, then visit this place. You won't regret it. I promise.

Derek Lewis — Google review

Impressive museum with collections from various cultures/time periods including Ancient Greek/Roman, African, American, Native American, European, and East/South Asian. However, what made this museum a little more special for me was the Art Deco/Nouveau section which is rarely part of the main galleries of the art museums.General admission is FREE which is great as you can really take your time and see part of the museum and then come back at another time to see the rest.In addition to the permanent collections they also do have ongoing exhibitions (some of them requires you to buy tickets).Sculpture garden is nice to take a break and enjoy a cup of coffee or have a bite at a nice day.Inside the museum masks are optional.Free street parking nearby or $6 museum parking.Overall an excellent experience - thanks everyone contributing the smooth operation of this museum, your work is really appreciated!

I am New to Richmond. I just moved here from New York. The Virginia museum of fine arts was my first outing as a resident. It was amazing. There is no way to cover it all in one day or even two! There is so much to see. It has so much to offer! I will be going back!

This is one of my favorite museums (and I grew up going to the Smithsonian Museums all the time)! I always visit the Faberge exhibit, it is exquisite! The museum also allows and encourages photography, so have fun taking photos! There is also a nice restaurant and cafe if you need food or a pick-me up. And there's plenty of seating in the cafe, but also outside. The grounds of the museum are also worth visiting on their own. There were plenty of people lounging in the grass, working on their laptops in the shade, etc... It looks like the perfect way to spend an afternoon in Richmond.

Sohna Kunnath — Google review

So much more exciting than I expected! Lots of exhibits, many of which we didn’t get to. Free admission besides the specialty display downstairs. Fine art displays feature world renowned artists and their works. There’s a wide array of sculptures, artifacts, and paintings.

Great place to come for some art! Beautiful old building to walk around in and explore all the wings with different types of art. Plus they usually have a special exhibit going on which is always worth checking out. Nice little cafe with some good coffee, various drinks and snacks to eat. The outside patio, garden and fountains on the grounds are great to sit around and relax in. They have a jazz night and various events that bring in the crowds which is a good time if you are looking for something to do. And as you can see from the pictures sometimes you can catch a majestic sunset here.

Highly recommend this art museum. To start off, it’s FREE, all I had to pay for was parking which was $5. Definitely worth it. They have such a wide variety of different types of art from all over the world and different time periods. My favorite piece of art was the Fabergé eggs. Really cool to see the different jewels they used to make them.

I love the VMFA. With over 500,000 square feet of exhibition space on a thirteen acre campus, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts has so much to offer. Whether your interest is ancient Egyptian art, Cubist paintings or Russian jewelry, this museum has something for everyone. There’s a cafe on the main level with outdoor seating that looks out over a reflection pond and the beautifully landscaped sculpture garden. The museum gift shop is large and full of all sorts of great artsy things. This is easily one of the best museums in the country. And it’s free! There is a parking garage, which does have a fee, but it’s possible to find free on street parking, as long as you don’t mind walking a block or two.I highly recommend a visit to this museum.

VMA is truly a gem of a museum. It has a top notch diverse collection that is wonderfully spaced out. You can leisurely view all the galleries without feeling overwhelmed or over saturated. The grounds and the outdoor sculptures are equally impressive. This is a must-see if you’re in Richmond.

Augusto Paulino — Google review

Beautiful collection with so many unique highlights - the furniture, Fabergé eggs, Tiffany lamps, just to name a few. The sculpture gardens out back are the perfect place to enjoy a coffee or read a book. And admission is free (some special exhibits are ticketed)!

I am giving one star with a heavy heart. I was visiting family and we were all so excited to come visit the museum. Upon arriving we saw beautiful pieces of work. It was going great. About 10 minutes into our visit we were approached by a museum employee who told us to put our diaper bag on facing forward, they explained it was to keep the works safe from being knocked over. That made sense and we obliged. No problem. However, it would have been helpful if we would’ve been greeted at the front and given that information. But no harm. We carried on (diaper bag facing forward) through the galleries. We entered a long hallway area with paintings hung on either side. My niece (who is 1) was wriggling in my brothers arms. Since we were in a space with nothing that could be knocked over - He set her down and off she went, keep in mind she’s 1…so her run is the equivalent of a quick walk. We were on one side of the gallery and from the other side of the hall we heard booming yelling. It was so loud that it echoed and it was hard to hear what was being shouted. My sister in law took a few steps forward and a man appeared, she said to him “I’m sorry, what was that?”. Again, he yelled “NO RUNNING IN THE GALLERY”. We were too stunned to speak - he was so clearly absolutely furious. My brother scooped up my niece - at this point we were terrified to make another wrong move. It was SO deflating. We left shortly after this encounter because we felt totally unwelcome. I’m not arguing that the gallery should be treated like a race track - what I do think is that there was a more kind way to communicate with us. There were some amazing pieces but the staff at the Museum was incredibly rude and we left very disappointed. I have a fine arts degree, I’ve worked and shown work in galleries. I understand there’s certain etiquette - but I also understand how to communicate with kindness and grace. I hope that the staff, and specifically that employee learn and do better.

We went for it first visit and were excited to see works from Matisse, John Singer Sargent. It was wheelchair friendly, high quality art work from a high caliber art museum. It highlighted different artists from the Cubist, Impressionist and The Gilded Age. We will be back, we couldn't complete the museum in one visit. The visit is free, so don't worry about buying tickets. There is a cafe and coat check.

First time visit we had a great time so much to see we're going to have to go back a couple more times for sure. There was art from all up and down the timeline and all over the world I found it very fascinating My teenagers also enjoyed it and that says a lot.

Beautiful, stunning, charming, peaceful, relaxing are just a few of the words that come to mind. Great for the family, great for dates, great just to get away. Kid friendly, wheelchair accessible, clean, well kept. If you are in the area go visit. Did I mention that it is free.

Excellent place to spend quality time with family or significant others. There’s always a cultural event or exposition going on. On weekends they have an event called “Family Day” where you can bring kids to do paintings and other activities. They even give them a “passport” where you can have a stamp for each activity that they completed. And the best part: it’s free, you don’t have to pay. It worth a visit!

Gislane Almeida — Google review

My favorite sections were the India artifacts and information and the Russian artifacts (the eggs!!) What an awesome museum. Fantastic art pieces throughout as well... I would definitely go back!Only downside was that I felt American and French items were just paintings (tons of horses and abstract) or furniture while other cultures/countries had amazing artifacts, jewelry and paintings.

What a beautiful experience!!! The art exhibits were well placed and easy to navigate. The museum environment in was well balanced, not crowded in any areas. I even had lunch in the Cafe. I've never had a bad meal in this place. The food is always so exquisite, fresh, and innovative. The staff was friendly & very attentive to my needs and they really go above and beyond to ensure you enjoyed your meal. I can't wait to go back.

The Faberge collection here was phenomenal! I have visited the Armoury Museum in Moscow which contains some Faberge objects which belong to the Russian Government as well as the Faberge Museum in St. Petersburg, and I can easily say this was the best collection of Faberge I have ever seen. Not only did they have 5 of the famous Faberge Easter eggs, they had numerous large pieces of Faberge silver as well as many hard stone pieces including numerous carved animals and flowers. All were beautifully displayed and lit and easy to view in uncrowded spaces. They also had a beautiful Impressionist painting collection. And all for FREE! Highly recommend!

Ann Telma — Google review

This was our first time visiting the museum. My daughter loved that some of it was interactive. She took time to sketch her favorite piece. We found street parking and didn't enter through the main entrance. They don't allow you to wear backpacks on your back you have to hang it off the shoulder or wear it the front way.

I’m such a fan of the VMFA. I have a fond memory of seeing an impressionist exhibit as a high school student here, and it was the first time I realized I enjoyed art. I’m always impressed with the exhibits they manage to secure, and I never leave feeling disappointed. I would recommend getting the membership - it’s just not that expensive and if you see a few exhibits and use their parking garage, the membership easily pays for itself. I went to see an exhibit there last year and was lucky enough to stumble across a fashion show! Loved the energy and the artistry. Check their upcoming events - I feel like they’re always adding something new to the calendar.I wish I had more photos to add…I need to dig some up! It’s a beautiful building and they transform the space to enhance each exhibit.

Sally Houston — Google review

The VMFA had incredible collections from a variety of artists, periods and movements. Typically I have gone on week days and have never seen it very crowded at all. The museum itself is very beautiful and I would recommend taking some time to spend in the outdoor sculpture garden. Many amazing things to see.

Cemetery

Sights & Landmarks

Hollywood Cemetery is a beautiful, historical cemetery in Richmond, Virginia. Famous people such as two American presidents, six Virginia governors, and two Supreme Court justices are buried there. It's also a popular tourist destination with great views of the river and city skyline.

I absolutely love visiting cemeteries! This one definitely wowed me. So much history and it is beautiful! Photos do not do it justice! If you’re ever in the area give it a visit!

Amber Carroll — Google review

Google maps directed us through some weird streets but finally got us there. Located on the banks of the James River with hills, valleys and large trees, this garden cemetery is a beautiful and serene place to walk around. Various tours are offered here, but self guided tours can be taken by downloading a map or getting a map from the visitor center for $1. This is the burial place of two Presidents of the United States and 6 Governors of Virginia. There are many headstones that are works of art. We also came across some animal statues beside a few headstones.

Seeta — Google review

Finally fulfilled my lifelong dream of seeing David Brockie's grave. I had a moment where I transported through space and time and felt really connected to the punk and metal scene in Richmond. Additionally, the cemetery itself was really beautiful and well taken care of. Lots of history and great place for a snack. Would be buried here. Worth the trip. Hail Oderus.

Mike Kennedy — Google review

Simply serene. Beautiful riverside cemetery that has lots to contemplate. It is welcoming but invites personal exploration and contemplation. Dogs are welcome.

Jean Westcott — Google review

Very peaceful and historical cemetery. You can choose to walk or drive through. Some of the paths are pretty steep.

Shannon Wheeler — Google review

If there is only one historical cemetery you ever visit in your lifetime, it must be this one! It is vast, extensively, beautifully landscaped, and tended to meticulously. Park-like in its atmosphere, it feels more like an outdoor museum of sorts, as people walk the myriad paths for exercise as well as to browse the many headstones, monuments, and mausoleums, old to newer. The views of Richmond are picturesque, and you can drive thru the cemetery if you don't wish to walk. It is immense, so my folks and I drove along and stopped where we chose to get out and view graves as we went. This place is a must see!

Ronna Richmond — Google review

Hollywood Cemetery is beautiful and well-maintained. It only has one entrance/exit that wasn't locked, which didn't register in Google when we were trying to exit. If you're going to walk here, bring a water bottle. It's very interesting to see people that were important to Richmond's history, the gravestones are mostly clear and legible, and the walking path is smooth. It's a little hilly, which looks lovely, but keep it in mind if you've got poor knees. You're able to drive the whole park if walking it isn't an option for you.

Lukas G. — Google review

Went to visit historical sites and teach my kids about American History. We enjoyed our time there and the kids were more interested in the Richmond Vampire W.W. Pool but they did learn a lot! We also got to see deer running through the cemetery

C Ware — Google review

Beautiful cemetery. Went to see the Presidents' burial places. Monroe and Tyler.

Sarah Harris — Google review

Photos do not do Hollywood Cemetery justice, ditto, as so many others have said the same thing. Leave your car at the entrance and just wander under the canopy of trees. You will not be able to see the whole place in one visit so just enjoy the time you do have to wander, to read the headstones, to see the care and love given to the selection of each site. It is very hilly and you will lose your breath, but you won't regret walking.

Irma Almazan — Google review

I think this is a must visit in Richmond. Beautiful grounds and the views from near Presidents circle of the river and city are unmatched. Cemeteries usually freak me out but the feeling here is somehow more upbeat. There is a ton of history there and the visitors appreciate it. I encourage anyone to give it a visit, preferentially in the daytime, I am not brave enough to traverse these hollowed grounds in the dark.

Joseph Moran — Google review

A beautiful place to lay loved ones to rest. This is by far the coolest cemetery I have ever seen. We drove for almost 2 hours to visit. Iy's a shame it was raining the entire day but we still walked around and explored this enormous place. I feel like my words do it no justice so I will end this here. May all those souls rest in peace.

Museums

The White House of the Confederacy is a museum containing the largest collection of Confederate artifacts and memorabilia during the years of the Civil War. It is located in Richmond, Virginia, and is open to visitors year-round. The museum was created by war veterans and Confederate leaders themselves, as a way to preserve their personal belongings and memories of the war.

I enjoyed the tour a lot. They did an excellent work restoring the historical accuracy of the house and preserving it. White House of the Confederacy is a unique place to learn about American history and plunge into the everyday life and work of Jefferson Davis and his family. Although our tour guide was great, I would suggest adding more content on the history & politics of the American South and reducing the amount of information about their everyday routine. Potentially, they could run several tours for those who are interested to learn about various aspects of that era. Their souvenir shop deserves special attention! Make sure to check it out because they have some extraordinary artifacts that are not so easy to purchase online these days.

Victor Oleynik — Google review

Had a really fun time at this small museum. My husband and I wanted to kill some time in Richmond and came upon this & we were blown away. The museum is smack dab in downtown in between the hospitals. We parked at the hospital parking lot and it was a quick 3 minute walk.Andy was a delightful tour guide and she was very well versed on all things President Jefferson Davis. This tour took around an hour and I definitely recommend it.

Rachel C — Google review

Under renovation so we were unable to visit, tickets for tours need to be purchased online in advance. It’s unfortunate that the city choose to build a hospital surrounding this historic site. It detracts from its significance.

Sarah Hartman — Google review

Tour guide Andrea was knowledgeable with a friendly vibe. The house was beautiful. It gives a sweet glimpse into its time hosting the Davis family and also hints at its time before and after.

Alexandria Virginia — Google review

I was surprised to stumble across something so infamous as the home of the President of the Confederacy right in the heart of Richmond. I did not get a tour of the inside but spent some time reading historic markers about the building on the outside. It was dark when I got here so it gave a real eerie vibe to the area. Would love to learn more about the building next time I visit.

Collin Marshall — Google review

A great museum if you are into American history. Admission is with guided tours only, and it makes sense - the house isn't big, and a guided tour provides you with the history of the house. Great souvenir shop. We enjoyed our tour, our only suggestion is to focus more on the history of the Confederacy rather than on personal stories. We were disappointed that the third floor was closed to the public. The museum is worth visiting.

Alexey Gorbachev — Google review

Well worth the visit! As Civil War history buffs, we're always skeptical of anything owned and operated by a private group. This was a fantastic tour. The tour guide, Charlie, was extremely knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. You need to reserve your time slot online and purchase tickets in advance. It's an excellent tour. We were so impressed that we came back the next day with our family who were traveling with us. They do a fantastic job of presenting a fairly unbiased view of the Civil War and the history of the Confederate White House as well as its occupants. We'd go again!

Arden Chambers — Google review

The entire experience is ruined by the fact that it's glory is blocked by the giant hospital. This is absolutely disgraceful to such a historic place. The city of Richmond should be ashamed.

Margareta — Google review

Fantastic tour! Beautiful restoration and interiors. We enjoyed this a lot and definitely recommend!

Jill Morgan — Google review

Very interesting home to a few people, one president and for a period, a public school. Our tour guide, Charlie, was exceptional and knew a great deal about Pres Davis and his family, etc. The only downside was parking, which is atrocious. Plan in 30 minutes prior to starting the tour just to find

Alex Diebold — Google review

Excellent tour. Highly recommend. It was definitely interesting to hear more about the Davis family. Before today, I knew nothing but the name of Jefferson Davis. The museum is located smack dab in the middle of a hospital complex, and parking can be a little tricky. Tours are limited to 18 people each. Definitely recommend booking in advance. We went on a Thursday at 10:30am and our tour had 10 people in it, so I could see later in the day and weekends booking up.

Jenifer Fosnaugh — Google review

Excellent small museum you should visit when you're in town. As others have said, it's hidden in a world of hospitals and parking garages and can get lost very easily - but it's still there.Nathan gave an excellent tour and the staff is full of knowledge and unique informational tid bits about the site.Definitely give yourself plenty of time to find some parking if you are coming on a scheduled tour, the people coming in and out of the parking garages for the medical center can be slower than molasses - then the elevator somehow decides it can go even slower. Plus if you're driving in from out of town - it's a sea of one ways - be prepared for that while you're following the GPS, ensuring you're on the right street *AND* watching out for all the pedestrians.

Gavin Hamilton — Google review

A true piece of American history presented by a great tour guide (included in ticket price), highly recommended. Great for history buffs as well as design/decoration gourmands, beautiful interiors rich with historical details.

Aari Lemmik — Google review

Roured the old Confeferate capital building and enjoyed the experance. They have some but not all of the original items. They have done a good job restoring the building. It first served as a privet house, then the Confedetate capital building ,after that Union headquarters for 5 years. It then became a school and finally a museum.

Botanical garden

The Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a year-round locale with 50 acres of themed gardens, dining options, and a classical domed conservatory. The garden is recognized as one of the top botanical gardens in the country and offers children something to do on a hot day. The garden also has a variety of dining options for adults and boasts beautiful landscapes.

Amazing experience!! Loved it...all of it. Went on a Saturday afternoon. Went to see the Orchid Show, which was fabulous. It was a wee bit crowded inside the conservatory but it was worth it. The orchid displays were worth the trip. It's late winter but the gardens were beginning to show color. The gardens have really nice walkways. Nothing strenuous. You can even walk on the grass! Children were rolling down the hills. This is a great place for kids. I look forward to my next visit in April; early Spring...everything should be in bloom or almost. Highly recommend this treasure.

Pamela Pinson — Google review

I should have known how busy this place was going to be on free-admission July 4th day but I decided to brave the visit on what has to of been one of the hottest days ever! But the Garden was prepared with lots of volunteers helping in the parking lots, providing water refill stations, manning information stations, everywhere! It's a beautiful place with amazing gardens full of just beautiful plants from all over the world. On this hot day, my favorite spots were of course the shaded gardens and the butterfly exhibit did not disappoint. A must visit for those who love gardens, nature, water, and just vibing with what we all wish our home gardens would look like.

We went to visit a few weeks ago and fell in love with the garden. All of the staff were kind and polite. The gardens were well kept. The inside and the restrooms were very clean. We enjoyed our visit so much we became members. Highly recommend Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens.

What is not to love? There is something for everyone here. The walk ways are very accessible, plants and trees are often labeled. The butterfly exhibit and orchid greenhouse is peaceful and fantastic. The rose garden is fragrant and the rotating art installations are unique and interesting. The children's play area has recently been redone and overlooks the lake. The Japanese garden is relaxing and the multiple fountains are well maintained. Come any time of the year especially in Sring and for Christmas.

Rebecca Courtright — Google review

This was an absolute highlight of our vacation. The garden has approximately 50 acres of land filled with an exceptionally diverse plant catalog with a Children’s Garden, a Butterfly Garden, multiple children playgrounds, refreshment areas, and other hands-on activities. The staff are very friendly and attentive as well. There’s plenty of free parking and the prices are extremely reasonable. This is a definite must visit when you are in Richmond!

Trent Heck — Google review

Today on our visit the gardens were pretty empty. There were quite a bit of things in bloom and it was a nice peaceful walk around the grounds. The grounds overall were extremely clean and well taken care of. The staff that we had interactions with were extremely nice and able to answer any questions we had. This was a really cool place to get to walk around and look at all the plants. All of the plants were labeled as well, incase you wanted to know what something was.

Bill Werling — Google review

The bonsai exhibit is very cool. We went in late February so there’s not much to see other than the orchids in the greenhouse. The area is very clean and well-kept. The staffs are friendly and welcoming.

Due Chuenchujit — Google review

Went on a whim as a field trip with our two year old. Everyone loved it! Spent about 3 hours there. There were flowers and plants I've never seen in real life or pictures before. Hopefully these pictures help entice you to check it out for yourself; but they won't to do it justice. Not to mention, a huge butterfly room. A must see/visit. Go yourself, with friends, or with family. It's beautiful. Kid friendly as well. They do events, too, apparently, so we will be looking for that in the future.

Tom Sawyer — Google review

This place is absolutely beautiful! Whimsical gardens bursting with life, So much to see and do. The aromas from all the variety of flowers was gorgeous. Such a wide variety of plants to see and explore. I also love how all of them are labeled as to what they are...very educational. Will definitely be going back.

Simply stunning. Each exhibit and individual garden was stroller-accessible. I had the most lovely time ogling at the various flowers and plants. We’ll be definitely returning in the fall!

Admission was free on Labor Day, walking through the entire garden took around 2 hours, stopping several times to take in the scenery. This is one of the most family-friendly places I've visited, the park is filled with high-quality experiences for children. For 96° summer afternoons, water and sun protection are a must! Some highlights for me were the live music performance at the historic Bloemendaal house, the Incanto sculptures by Kate Raudenbush scattered throughout the park, and the see-through beehive at the Kroger community garden. The gift shop was also quite large and the old ladies working there were very charming. Lovely visit overall!

Tony Lin — Google review

Stunning facility. The different stops are each breathtaking in their own special way. What a great presentation of biodiversity. The pathways are mostly flat but there are some hilly sections. There are so many beautiful flowers, trees, cacti, succulents, and other types of plants. There is a cost for admission ($17 as of 08/2023) but they offer military discounts. Well worth the visit.

This is one of my happy places. I've been a member for years now, and it's always a peaceful place to recharge my emotional batteries. The staff are always kind and friendly. I head up to the conservatory (not sure if that's the right word) first to look at the orchids, and the butterflies when they're there. Then I do a leisurely lap around the grounds, listening to the water, looking at the flowers and enjoying the turtles and fish that are there. But not the heron. There is a heron that shows up sometimes. He is my nemesis, and he only seems to show up when I don't have my big camera with me.It's nice to be able to sit on the porch of the tea house and just exist for awhile. They also have classes (I've taken one about spices and another about rice) that are amazing. Highly recommend this place.

Visited the garden for the holiday lights. The grounds were beautiful and captivating. The process to purchase the tickets and to check in was very easy. There were restrooms upon entry. There was a lot of places to take nice pictures. There was. O food or drink allowed due to having a restaurant. There was apple cider and hot. Chocolate available. But the hot chocolate was so hot my. Holder. Could not drink them h til we got home. So maybe if there was an option to have it cooler that would be good. Otherwise I was pleased.

A visit to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden Festival of Lights is a holiday tradition for our family. Enjoy a festive, colorful walk after dark through the garden. This year’s light show is beautiful. The kids love the magical holiday garden. It’s truly a great experience for the whole family. The path is paved and can accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. There are some hills to navigate. Don’t forget to visit the conservatory to see the giant Christmas tree. There is also an awesome indoor toy village with trains running through.

SAS — Google review

Came here for the first time during the Christmas light festival. The decorations were beautiful, though initially felt like a sensory overload. Plenty of parking available. Well run event. And the ground had hard top so it was easy for everyone to navigate.Super chilly night and wish I had brought a warm beverage like many others. Now I'm curious to see all the plants inside and definitely will have to come back for a daytime visit.

We visited in January and it was a delightful experience. Lunch at the cafe was tasty and exactly what we needed after a few hours of walking around. I can't wait to visit again when more flowers are in bloom and enjoy some wine with lunch. 10/10 would go again!

Awesome winery that we just happened to stop at while In the area. We had two flights and I can honestly say that I enjoyed all 6 wines that were tried. The setting is very neat and a little snap shot of what you might see from a vineyard in Greece. If in the area it's definitely worth the trip. Service was great. Only negative thing that could be said are the wine bottles are pretty pricey with most being $35-$100. That said though it's still one of the best vineyards I think I have been to

Our wine guide (I didn’t catch net name unfortunately) was AMAZING. The wines were all interesting and most were excellent. I would recommend stopping to anyone who was interested in wine. Our guide discussed food and wine pairings and we had a cheese and cracker snack with the wine. We left with a case of wine! It was a great time!! The Mediterranean flight was so unique! Thank you thank you thank you!!

Absolutely beautiful place. The staff were incredible and offered a wealth of information and knowledge of the wines. They gave us the back story of the owners and the history of this awesome winery.I chose the Favorite Red Flight which every wine was amazing. My favorite was the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon which I had to get a bottle to take home. This place is beautiful and would recommend to anyone looking for their next favorite winery.

Love this place! The wines are delicious, the staff is amazing, the scenery is gorgeous... I honestly can't say enough good things. My wife loves their mulled wine. You haven't lived until you see the paintings on display, a tale of 2 uncles :)

Christopher Drake — Google review

This place was beautiful. I’m no wine connoisseur, but this place offers a variety of red and white wines. We liked the one we picked (Viognier) after going through the flights ritual. But the most captivating thing was NOT the scenery or our selection of wine, both of which were excellent, it was the service. This was the single best experience we have had in any genre of service industry since Covid began. The service we received was simply matchless.

Pramod Sings — Google review

Winery and vineyard with an interesting take on standard varietals; chardonnay in the off dry, Moscato in dry, etc. Nice tastings available as are by the glass and bottles. Plenty of outdoor seating. Less child friendly than some other local places. Think Greece when visiting.

Goerganne/a, served us and gave us input, ideas, and informed us about eat wine, suggested different ones based on out preference, which we ended up buy bottles of her recommended wines as they were amazing. And the tastings we did have were good too. The tastings are priced great for how much wine you get. Their snacks pair well with the wines.10/10 experience10/10 service10/10 venue and appearance10/10 cleanliness and precautions.Definitely recommend coming here for an afternoon to relax in enjoy the scenery and taste wine that is made different than anything else you've probably locally tasted.Their take on wine gives you a new insight on flavors and notes and gives you presceptive on local craftsmanship. Will definitely return to buy more wine from here.

I took my girlfriend to this winery. It not only is beautiful inside and out. The wine is absolutely great, i liked everyone of them I was able to try between the welcoming flight, and the dry white flight. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and just great. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good wines in Virginia.

Wow! What a nice experience. 7 of us got there a half hour before closing. We were quickly seated at a table, which was a pleasant change from other wineries. Everything was laid out nicely; napkin, wine glass, wine rating menu and the best imported greek cheese that I had ever tasted along with crackers. The hostess, Lea, was excellent in every way. Her clear and flowing style in her presentation of the wines and knowledge of them added to the enjoyment of the tasting. Her sense of humour also added to the delight of all of us. The tasting area is small, as well as the table area. But quaint and comfortable. The various wines tasted were excellent. A perfect example of fine Greek wine. We were also graced to taste their exceptional Pinot Noir and the recent uncorking of their Red Dessert Wine "Porto". All in all a perfect way to enjoy an afternoon.

We enjoyed the huge selection of wines at this winery. I had a dry white flight featuring pinot grigio, riesling, and Moscato. Beautiful views and Greek style outdoor/indoor seating areas. Recommend a visit!

Movie theater

Fun & Games

Theater complex with multiple screens featuring new release films, plush seating & concession stand.

The Promenade is like the only place to chill at in Gainesville, however, it is still rather fun. Me and crew were rolling the streets the otha night and had a breakdance battle with the NigWard clique. After that we had a rap battle and I definitely won.

Jude Alexzander — Google review

Slowest concession service I have ever encountered. I waited in line for 35 minutes to get a bag of popcorn and missed the beginning of my movie. It is like this every single time I come here (even on a slow day). Management, please do something. It’s not like this at other Regals.

Tyler Hagan — Google review

Haven't been to the movies much since the pandemic. I can't stomach paying nearly $20 for just the ticket. And the food prices are astronomically high. 2 small sodas (a small is 32 oz.) was $16 and small popcorn almost $11. It is no longer economical to go to the movies. Wait 1-4 months for the movie to come out on a streaming service that you likely already subscribe to and enjoy it at a fraction of the cost.

Peter Prinz — Google review

Beautiful movie theater, comfortable seats, plenty of parking, and lots of nearby restaurants. However, the service at the concession stand was extremely slow. I waited over 20 min for the seven customers ahead of me to be served. It was opening Friday for Top Gun: Maverick but it was the afternoon show and the theater was only half full. So no excuse for the slow service.

Scott Genberg — Google review

Avoid theater 6. Theater screen is going out, so it’s creating a high glossy area at the top center where color fades, affecting picture quality. Very distracting and takes away from the experience. Owners should replace the screen. May be a best practice asking the front desk which screens are in good order before purchasing your ticket.

Aaron Kirkland — Google review

Visited several times, generally good. The ticker booth is outside, not comfortable in summer or winter. Good sized lobby. Popcorn is quite good but very expensive. Beverages are expensive. Many screens gives many options for showtimes. Reserved seating. Multiple clean restrooms. Accessible seating in all theaters

James Connal — Google review

Fun at the movies. The popcorn is always good. Not busy at all, no lines, no waiting there is plenty of parking clean place, very friendly employees. The seats are very comfortable incredible sound and movie was great. Excellent experience.

Freddy Solis — Google review

I went there yesterday and sat on salon 14 to see Tickets to Paradise. First and last time in the theater. Worst movie experience because of the reflective screen. I can’t believe how they fail at the most important feature which is the quality of the picture. I was so annoyed with the glittery reflective screen and only enjoyed the darker scenes. They ruined the experience for me.I don’t understand how everyone not complaining about this. I was going to ask someone during commercials but I thought they will turn off a light or something that is causing this when the movie starts. However it was the screen because it became more obvious after the lights were turned off and movie started.

Michael Mangan — Google review

Consider this fair warning so that you don’t end up in the same situation I found myself in: theaters 6,12, and 14 have silver screens, which means the image is absolute trash. Anything projected on these silver screens looks like there’s a constant glare on the screen. How regal okayed the use of the screens in their theaters boggles the mind!? The theater manager, provided a quick refund and mentioned this is their most common complaint. If you don’t care about the quality of the image on the screen and are just out for a good time otherwise then this theater is just fine as long as you are not in theater 6, 12, or 14.

Located in the Promenade at Celebration Pointe. Great place to grab dinner with many restaurants to choose from. We ordered our tickets on line to select the seats we wanted. Upon entry, a kind gentleman scanned our ticket code from my phone and told us what theater our movie would be in. There was four concession lines open and it went fairly quick. We then went over to the full bar and I was able to get a draft craft beer. There was a security guard on property which made us feel safe. Once inside the theater we took our leather reclining seats and watched the movie. Sound was great and parking was not a problem. I highly recommend this theater.5 Stars!

5 Star Society — Google review

First and last time coming to this theater. Went to see Dune Friday @ 3pm and the kid at the register was clueless. Rang us up for a medium caramel popcorn and we paid, then he came back with a small and said oh we only have a small in the warmer. Then told us to come back after the movie and he would refund us for the medium and ring us up for the small. We said ok, dont forget about us. We go back and talk to him and another guy who was some type of supervisor and the kid told him what happened and we explained what happened and the supervisor just kept saying i need a receipt and was rude and was annoyed we were talking to him. The kid didnt give us a receipt. Unacceptable customer service, we didnt do anything wrong, followed your employee’s directions and were treated like thieves. Not to mention the sound in the RPX was horrible, the bass so loud it was rattling the ceiling tiles and I couldn’t hear dialog half the time. Awful experience overall. Regal you need to train your staff better and get some better employees if you hope to stay in business.

Bought a ghost busters refillable popcorn and soda ,for me and grandkids.shortlt before we left I went to get a refill.i was asked do i have the receipt. I didn't know.but it was clearly the refillable cup.the attendee said how do I know you bought it today? Oh yeah I come n sit in the lobby with 4 kids each day and refill my soda cup.m8nd you i found my receipt and had spent 175$ and given a hard time about my refill.wh8ch i had spent 30$ to have.not away to run a movie theater. Very Dissatisfied

Joy Smith — Google review

Biggest disappointment to go see the Dune movie in auditorium 8 where there is a discolored/pixilated area on the screen almost dead center. So when important scenes are present and what you should be seeing is dead center - great!! You cannot see what is going on. Very disappointing to pay for tickets for 3 people to go see a movie for that 'movie theater' experience and you have better imaging on your TV at home. AVOID AUDITORIUM 8

Sarah Rollins — Google review

They no longer over-salt the popcorn, which I'm happy about. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. I have never been there when it's dirty or not been recently cleaned. I like the area, too. Restaurants and shops in walking distance. Makes for a nice afternoon.

Madonna Gorriaran — Google review

Please for the love of MOVIES, FIX the sound in theater 1! I appreciate your RPX experience but the base is so loud in this auditorium that it rattles the drop ceiling system so loudly at the entire room sounds like trash. Loud is one thing but you also need to balance that with quality. The theater is nice but you really need to get this whole system recalibrated... Or fix the drop ceiling rattling with some Dynamat or something. Ruined Dune Part Two for me.

Pete Kowalsky — Google review

The place is clean and they serve alcohol which is nice if you'd like a drink. But a couple of the screens need to be upgraded. It's so convenient that it is my go-to

National museum

The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a modern facility located near Marine Corps Base Quantico, showcasing the rich history of the military branch. With an impressive glass atrium and over 118,000 square feet of space, visitors can explore exhibits that honor those who have served and sacrificed for their country. The museum also hosts retirement ceremonies for Marines who have dedicated over 24 years to their service.

I loved the life-size displays. They had a multitude of rooms displaying the history of the Marines from the revolutionary War to the present. A couple of theaters gave you a feel for the basic training experience. The water color art and s ulptures were awesome.

Kathleen Coleman — Google review

Beautiful facility all around. Depend on it taking you a couple of hours inside and probably nearly that long outside. The guides within the museum are very helpful and enthusiastic about their jobs. Take the walk and check out the outside monuments as well. You won’t be disappointed. And don’t miss Chesty!

BcOneSeven — Google review

Loved this museum! Didn't realize how big it was from the outside until I went in. Expect to spend several hours there. They have a restaurant and bar inside and a great walking trail outside. Will definitely be back!

A Brooks — Google review

One of the best museums I have visited so far, which was a pleasant surprise. The layout makes sense and will take you through the eras the Marine Corps has served our nation. Each exhibit is chock full of valuable information and amazing artifacts. Children will especially love the tanks, planes, helicopters, and other military vehicles they have on display here. There’s even two more sections that will be opening within the next year, so definitely stop by if you’re in the area or enjoy military memorabilia.

Justin Anderson — Google review

All staff made you feel welcome. It's always spotless throughout the building. Great variety of gifts in the shop. All the displays and exhibits are so amazing. They make you feel like you're there.

My son retired from the USMC after serving his country for more than 24 years. His retirement ceremony was held at the USMC museum. It was like being in the presence of greatness... looking around the museum and then the way the ceremony is carried out is simply fantastic. You can't help but think of all the men and women that have retired before and the ones to come later. That leads to thoughts of the ones that didn't make it home. There are so many that served but didn't make a career of it... but they are also very important.

Price: FreeDuration: 1-3hoursParking: ample free parkingAn architecturally beautiful building filled with a high quality Museum dedicated to the United States Marine corps. The main lobby is filled with military equipment and realistic military displays. The museum exhibits line the outer rim of the lobby. Highly recommend starting at the beginning here sign and then working your way around the circle so that it flows in chronological order. If you're interested in the military or have close family that have served in the Marine corps you could likely spend many hours in the museum. If you're just stopping by 1:00 to 3 hours or likely to be sufficient. Highly recommend at least walking through every single exhibit just to see the fantastic displays.Unfortunately the war on terrorism and the modern day Marine corps exhibit was closed when we visited in November 2022

Amazing! I'm not a Marine, or even military for that matter, although I fully appreciate the sacrifices that have been made. But this museum is a must see for everyone. Extremely well done exhibits done in multiple different ways. Some very powerful with the voices of people who were in the battles. Walk into rooms with recreations of battle voices and sounds with explosions coming from every direction. You can walk through into an amphibious landing vehicle or a troop helicopter. And so much more. The place is huge and very modern. Take the kids, it's really not graphic or scary but drives the message home. And it's free. Don't miss this one!

Plan to spend the day! So much to see, read, and experience (inside and out), you'll probably still have to plan more visits to take it all in. There is the Tun Tavern and a place for burgers to keep you going! And a gift shop with all things Marine. This museum is an amazing tribute honoring the United States Marine Corps. A must-see.

Kerry Ferguson — Google review

I go every year for the Marine Corps birthday on Nov. 10th with some of my brothers. It's definitely the best museum I've ever been to. There is plenty of history and things to read about. Tons of real artifacts, and they use real people to model their mannequins. I'm very proud of this museum. A must-see for everyone.

jasmine Torres — Google review

The exhibits were well done. You can tell the work that was put into it. I thought the combat environments were great especially for others to get a glimpse into the chaos of war. I was thinking that maybe there would be a warning on the glass, for those with PTSD or kids...but I think it's okay without the warning...I mean, this is what Marines do. I am a big fan of art and I wish there was a way that we could buy original works of the combat artists from the gallery. Please continue to have Marine Corps art displayed. I live it. My favorite thing in the entire museum was the sculpture of the Marine Rifleman with different Marine Corps things coming out of its body. Amazing museum. I intend to make a donation to the museum.

Dan B — Google review

Very informative museum with great exhibits. You could spend an hour there briefly understanding the history or you could spend many hours there reading and seeing everything. Some exhibits are more immersive with auditory and visual aids to help you understand the environment or the situation. Highly recommend.

Cinara — Google review

Amazing museum with lots of exhibits on the history of the US Marines. There is a lot to check out. You can watch a movie about the Marines and how they serve us. There is also a lot of tanks and airplanes. I like how each exhibit is organized into sections about a certain war. It is very clean and the I especially like the architecture of the museum. It’s very nice how the admission is free and there is so much to see here. There is a new exhibit opening soon about the Iraq war and I will definitely come back and check it out once it’s open. In my opinion this museum is overlooked and you should definitely go check it out if you are in the DC area!

Wonderful museum! My 5 yr old son absolutely loved it and me being a son of a Marine and a history buff I was very pleased with the displays, the layout of the museum and can’t wait for its completion. Plus the outdoor walking paths were peaceful and beautiful and I’m proud to say my father will have a brick honoring him alongside all the other heroes.

Robert Laing — Google review

Excellent museum, the guides were eager to share their knowledge with those in attendance but weren't pushy about it. The displays are layed out in a nice chronological order of the various time periods that have changed the Marines, however, each area is set off from a main corridor so you can go to a specific era if you want.

JD Zakerski — Google review

Purchased a brick for my Dad and presented the certificate to him several years ago. Dad passed in 2018, and this was the first time we had the opportunity to visit. The entire walk to locate his brick was humbling, like being at the National Cemetary in DC. Beautiful grounds and the museum requires more than one day to visit.

Such a cool place, we are navy but I think this place is amazing. They have so much information here and a gift shop that has tons of stuff to buy.A restaurant that was pretty good we had fish and chips and a Greek salad. Everything was pretty good.Tons of picture explains what stuff isPeople there to help with questions it is a double floor establishment, but they have an elevator if you don’t want to climb the stairs or if you can climb the stairs. Love all the history here, we didn’t have time to walk the grounds but those looked amazing as well.We will come back and walk the grounds on another day.You must come check this place out and bring the kids.

The museum was a pleasant surprise. It is a lot bigger than it appears, and the exhibits are very informative. The gift shop has excellent choices of memorabilia to remember your visit. There's only one suggestion allow ample time to enjoy your experience.

Family time at the museum, age levels from 5 to 80, we all enjoyed the many exhibits and story lines, not only of the wars but the history of the armament, uniforms, vehicles, and other equipment used. We watched the film on the history of the Marines, very well done, and Gene Hackman as the narrator was spot on. I'd encourage all to take a couple of hours and visit and learn or relearn about a part of American history.

Our visit to The Mariners' Museum and Park in VA was fantastic! Plenty of parking, spotless restrooms, and captivating exhibits made for a memorable experience. The staff's friendliness and expertise enhanced our journey through maritime history. The park's picturesque surroundings provided a tranquil retreat. The museum is well structured. There's a theatre which displays a video of the Marine Corps history. Upon exiting, you begin the first exhibit. Each one takes you thru a specific time line of events that occurred during a war and conflict. The upper level has a display of artwork created by veterans. The outer grounds has multiple interpretive walking trails

Outdoor concert amphitheater (formerly Nissan Pavilion) seating 10,000 with 15,000 more on the lawn.

This is a great concert venue! I came here with my family. I surprised my boyfriend in the parking lot with tickets to Breaking Benjamin and Alice in Chains for his birthday. He thought we were just going to dinner and was very confused when we pulled in to Jiffy Lube Live. The venue is huge, and we were at the very top of the stands and still jad a great view. There are even more seats behind there on the lawn, and since it's all on a hill, there's nowhere that has a bad view. There are food and beverage vendors when you get through the gates. I got a yummy veggie burger and fries, and my boyfriend had several different beers that he liked. The prices for food and drinks are very steep, so be warned. Maybe eat before you come and just get drinks if anything. There was also tons of parking, and even with there being lots of people, it was quick and easy to get out after. The concert was fantastic and we had a blast!

Lexie Gee — Google review

Incredible concert!!!!The sound was not great, it had a heavy echo and hard to understand when they tried to talk. Definitely needs to be adjusted.Buy the premium parking, we were out of the lot after concert within 3 minutes. Buy the refill cup, its worth it.Seats are tight!!!! Be prepared to have your neighbors sweaty thighs rubbing with yours. Its hot and the bathrooms are like a sauna.Health concern, vomit on ground in several spots. Beware and they don't wash or clean it. So don't sit or touch grounds without looking first.

Watched Santana live yesterday, out here 😍The show was just awesome and Santana knows how to get the crowd going! I couldn’t see an empty seat anywhere! About the venue itself, it is built for such massive scale shows and lights and acoustics were good. All the required facilities were available and accessible. The security was tight - as it should be. Traffic was a bit of a problem - so please leave early to the venue. Closer to the show - traffic is barely moving.People were having fun all over the place and it was good to be here! Upcoming shows here are good - so get yourself going for it!

I went to see Volbeat back in 2019 and Ozzfest in 2000 here. Pretty nice place to see a concert. There was a walk from the parking lot to the event center, but not bad at all. The line to go in moved extremely fast and no wait. Beer is obviously gonna be overpriced but I still got a few. Overall great experience both times I’ve gone here. Will be seeing more shows in the future here. Sorry pictures were from my old horrible phone.

Brian Piersa — Google review

Just like airports and theme parks, they price gouge you for everything. But the bathrooms are clean. For an outdoor concert venue, it was very nice. I've never seen so many ads play on the big screens before, which was kind of annoying, I'm not sure if that was a venue choice or if the bands were sponsored by these ads, probably the venue...

Xenophod — Google review

It's a great venue to see a show! They get great performances in there and it's not too far from home. The venue is set up beautifully. The lawn seats are great and give off a really festive party atmosphere. Great access to food and drink. Bathrooms are always relatively clean. My complaints are this. The prices for EVERYTHING are too high. $17 for a craft beer and $22 for a mixed co*cktail is completely insane. They also do need to work on their parking situation because leaving the concert afterwards is like complete chaos.

Jennie Jen — Google review

One of my favorite music venues! So much better than Merriweather! Parking is easy. Tailgating is allowed and they provide bathrooms. Everything is easy to find. Beverage choices aren't great and very pricey, though. Never have long lines at the bathrooms.

Attending the Matchbox 20 concert at Jiffy Lube Live was akin to biting into a gourmet burger, only to realize the bun's a tad stale – fantastic but not without its flaws. Matchbox 20’s performance was every bit of amazing, reminding us of the band's timeless talent. The vocals, instrumental synchronization, and the overall ambiance was truly top-notch. The stage was ablaze with energy, and each song invoked a swirl of nostalgia that had the crowd singing at the top of their lungs. However, the proverbial stale bun of the evening? The parking. Man, it was as if someone designed it as a test of patience for concertgoers. Jiffy Lube Live, your shows are outstanding, but navigating the parking labyrinth was a misadventure that tested the Zen of even the calmest souls. In short, if you're seeking an auditory treat with a side of parking chaos, this venue's got you covered. Rock on, Matchbox 20, but maybe next time, I'll catch you closer to home. 😉

Tony Ferrara — Google review

This is definitely a great venue! Over the years, it has grown, and the lawn is pretty big but also pretty far away. Parking is also a hike and takes a long time to get out after the show, depending on where you park. Other than that, I have to say the crew does an amazing job keeping things moving and making sure there is plenty to drink and eat. Place is clean, and sound is phenomenal no matter where you are sitting. The 3 large screens also allow people in the WAY back to see. They also have tickets available for people who want to arrive early and tailgate. Overall, great experience in a great location. Definitely recommend for a show.

Went to see Thomas Rhett and unfortunately I was in a boot and on crutches. I was walking to my seat and Donna asked me if I didn't have enough space they would move me to the handicapped section. I didn't have enough space and Donna was super helpful in getting me accommodated in the handicap section. I was able to elevate my foot, remain sitting and still be able to see the concert. I'm so thankful she asked me, otherwise I don't know if I would have enjoyed the concert as much. Thank you, Donna for going above and beyond to make my experience enjoyable! ❤ 🙏🏼

This venue is always great. They keep all the areas clean, there are enough bathrooms for everyone, and they offer beverages and food. The also have carts to take you closer to the seating waiting at the gates in case you are injured or disabled. Make sure if you bring a bag in that it is clear or very small. They will make you leave backpacks in the car. I always have a great time when I come here. The bands are always on fire and the venue is great. We saw Plush, Bush, Breaking Benjamin, and Alice in Chains last night. It was spectacular! All the bands were Amazing! Will definitely be coming back here to see more bands.

Parking was HORRIBLE to say the least. Entered the lot, attendant had me go straight toward the back/right because I have a handicap placard. When I get back there, next attendant says I can't park back there because I didn't have a white card stating it belonged to me. Advised me to go back up to the other side for handicap parking. I drive all the way around there for the next attendant to say go left and make a u turn(mind you it was cars coming in from that direction as well). When I make said u turn and sit in a traffic line for 10 minutes, another attend then comes and says the handicap lot is full🙄. I ask him where can I park and he says go left and all the way to the back. When I proceed to do just that, I see at least 40 spots....40. I ask another attend can I park over there...bless her heart, it was her first day so she really didn't know. Not gonna lie, she went to find someone over her and after waiting 5 minutes, I just found a spot and parked🤷🏾‍♀️. Lawn seats were great except for the excessive weed smoking🙄. Getting out of the lot took about 1 hour so there's that.My suggestions would be to pay for upgraded parking and STILL get there early

Great venue if you’re looking for a mid-sized concert, which is about my speed these days. I highly recommend getting access to the VIP lounge area. They’ve got good food and table service for drinks before and during the concerts.

This place was amazing for the Odesza concert. The venue was packed and the seating was great! I read reviews prior to going and we had decided to purchase Early parking. There was hardly any traffic when we got there and when we left the traffic was not bad. We were back on the highway heading home within 15 minutes after the concert ended. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for parking if you can, it's absolutely worth it!

I saw Fall out boy here and it was my first time. There were screens for lawn attendees and there is plenty of parking. They need to do better on directing people into the venue for parking – traffic was at a standstill for a while. Getting out went more smoothly, though - it only took 10 minutes and everyone zipper merged flawlessly. I did leave early and walk as quickly as I could back to my car.

- nice venue, sound quality is great, seats, lawn, and pit area. Has food and drinks.- tickets vary depending on what you're seeing and all.- food and drinks prices are pretty high, like $5 for a liquid death and $30 for a mix drink.- plenty of parking.- staff are very friendly.- good lighting and stage pyrotechnics when used.- overall a good experience each time I see a show here. I'd recommend this location.

We came for a Nickleback/ Brantley Gilbert concert in the latter part of August 2023 on a Saturday afternoon/night.Being there were apparently 20K people there, traffic was understandly backed up, and it took us an hour and a half to get to the venue, and that was driving the 6miles to get there. They had ample parking for everyone-we were parked way out in F-lot. One thing that could be better is the event staff parking directions/having people out there when everyone leaves. People were frustrated and cutting one another off or being aggressive in trying to merge 3 and 4 times before we even got out of the parking lot. If someone was managing the merging, traffic would have moved more efficiently. It took us 1hour to get out of the parking lot.The venue is cashless and lines to get through enter and security were quick. It took maybe a minute to get through both-this was at 630 (show start time).Drinks are okay priced, and they only have cans. I was surprised at the ease of getting in and out of the ladies rest room as it was quite large with 2 entrances. The seats are small for an average sized person and there's no cup holder so I saw a lot of spilled beverages, but there is room to get through the aisles.During the show, the people next to us had a tiff with another person. Event staff were quick to respond and calm everyone down. The older gentleman who I think was a supervisor put up with a lot from some of the concertgoers and deserves a shout-out.

The positives: I was satisfied with my seats in the Orchestra section. Workers were helpful, kept the aisles clear and were on top of things. VIP parking was excellent. Bathrooms were also large and not too bad.The negatives: The food worker spoke zero English. I felt bad for him and don't blame him, but it made it difficult for both me and him and I know the venue was probably paying him minimum wage while charging $9 for a water.VIP parking was expensive but I knew that was the only way I'd get in and out without dealing with an absolute mess.

Great Jelly Roll Concert. Clean bathrooms with fast moving line. Great mixed drinks at bar, but $15 beer was my only gripe in an otherwise great time at a great venue. Also, traffic is the same as it has always been getting in and out for years, but that was to be expected with Jelly Roll Backwoods Baptism Tour 2023 selling almost 23K seats in a sellout. I have never seen the lawn packed with as many people as I did this show. Great local venue with a solid booking lineup for summer 2023.

For years I go to this gentleman that fixes jewelry. He has a small shop in the malls hallway close to the entrance where the dance studio is at. Good prices. Fast service. Has fixed our watches, changes batteries, enlarges or reduces our ring sizes. Great service! Highly recommend.

My review is in regards to the Pure Spa Massage inside the mall. This space is located in the back portion, towards T-Mobile.My experience with Grace was beyond amazing! 1 hour table massage.Every muscle, knot, or sore aching part of my body was healed.I can’t wait to buy my family gift cards for Christmas.Do yourself a favor and go get a “GRACEFUL” MASSAGE!Prices weren’t outrageous and the atmosphere was calm and clean.

This is a huge mall. I try to visit here Everytime I come up to the DC area. Fun to walk with the family and there’s a store for everyone, that’s for sure. My only complaint is the gross restrooms, but I know that’s just due to the high traffic of people that come & go through here. Place is awesome nonetheless and it’s always fun to get to come here. I’ll definitely be back.

I recently visited Potomac Mills Mall, and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. I had a few items to return, and I was relieved to find that the mall wasn't as packed as it often is on weekends. This made the entire trip a breeze and a pleasant outing. The noticeable lack of overcrowding made a significant difference. I could actually breathe and move around comfortably without feeling like I was navigating through a sea of people. It allowed me to enjoy my shopping experience without the usual stress associated with large malls during peak hours. The stores I visited had friendly and helpful staff who made the return process smooth and efficient. There was no long wait, and I appreciated their professionalism.Potomac Mills Mall has a fantastic selection of stores, which is one of the reasons I keep returning. This time, the visit was particularly enjoyable due to the manageable crowd. It felt like I had more time to explore and shop at my own pace.In conclusion, my recent visit to Potomac Mills Mall was a delightful experience. The reduced crowds made the trip more relaxing and enjoyable, and I had a positive interaction with the store staff during my returns. If you're looking for a pleasant shopping environment, this mall is a great choice.

Love going to this mall has many stores that are actually worth going to. Food court is nice and open. Many ways to enter and leave the mall with plenty of parking. And it’s surrounded by many other stores and restaurants close by great place to spend your day.

This mall was breathtaking! Came down here from southern VA and knew it would be an amazing and gigantic mall. Mainly came down here to exchange some currency at the wonderful exchange booth and take a walk around. The mall really was gigantic and took me a whole 20 minutes to walk through just half of it! So many terrific stores and so many great attractions. Wish I could check out every single one but had no time lol. Definitely will be back when I pass by Northern Virginia!!

Always busy be prepared. They definitely have a great selection on shopping from low end to high middle end. Food court is good but could have better options. I love that they have a cotton candy machine! Haven't seen one since Florida. Overall great place to shop with large variety.

One of the biggest mall in East coast US. You name the brand and for sure it will be in this mall. Also they have Burlington, Costco inside the mall.We tried basic spa inside, which is very good. It's just neck shoulder massage for 15mins, we gave 20$.Food court is having poppeye, burger King, Indian thali, Japan and Asian cuisine. Few Mexican restaurants also. Star bucks at different places.

Need more store. No store stay longer here.. Some of the store i love here is gone. The food court seems dirty, bathroom here is clean and i love that tbey are open early as 7:30 for all the senior to walk inside since it is cold outside.

Not too crazy crowded. Lots of options for shopping and easy to walk around inside or drive around the outside. I liked that there are entrances to some stores from the mall or from their own parking lot.

Jessica Cummings — Google review

I love Potomac Mills so I am glad I don’t live too close. I have my favorite stores like Clark’s, Coach and Vera Bradley. It is always busy there so parking can be quite a walk.

Gail Daras — Google review

If you're looking for a place to waste you time and money, well then you found the right spot! With at least quarter of the stores being closed down or businesses being empty. The mall is suppose to be an outlet but only a handful of them are. While they may advertise sales like they are newthey are not. Its the same sale year round just with a fresh coat of paint to appeal to the season. Employees lazily meanderings about on their phones looking like zombies until a person enters and they're all over you like a lost puppy or lazily greet you as you enter then lurk away. You have a ton of mall kiosk stations libgering around with the same product every hall way as well. Beware the hair care/skin care people. The will harass you and your group to try their product that is overpriced. The mall security is a joke of its own. This place would be better secured if they had a troop of boy scouts patrolling this place. Whenever you need them take 20-30 only to have the issue be resolved when they arrived. Also their is mice crawling around the bathroom areas as well. All in all don't go to this mall unless you absolutely need to.

Museum

Sights & Landmarks

George Mason's Gunston Hall is an 18th century Georgian-style home situated on the banks of the Potomac River, located near Mount Vernon. This historical landmark was once owned by George Mason, a notable Virginia statesman and military officer. Visitors can explore the well-preserved estate and its lush grounds, which feature ancient shrubs that are over 250 years old.

What an amazing visit! The tour was an hour long. There’s a small museum with interesting facts and interactive stations. Worth the reading and great intro before tour. The tour guide (Laura H.) was amazing!!!! She knew so much, provided thorough answers that connected with other historical estates and period events that I’ve visited. The house was so interesting and a great architectural inspiration! And what was so pleasant was how large the property was, how we were able to ask so many questions on your as opposed to being shuttled through like other more popular sites (or Mt. Vernon), and it was more tranquil being in a more remote and undeveloped area of Alexandria. Only sad part was that the garden was being restored so it was difficult to get a river view. But I’d be so glad to return!!!

A beautiful and informative place to spend an afternoon. Our tour guide was wonderful and encouraging of questions. The home is remarkably well-preserved thanks to comprehensive research and restoration efforts. One can easily imagine George and Martha Washington sitting in the parlor (as in fact they did!). Tours of the house run on the hour and you are free to explore the grounds and the museum in the visitor's center while you wait. The museum does appear to be geared towards children however. Outbuildings on the property include a recreated kitchen, laundry, and dairy, as well as a schoolhouse where the Mason children would have been tutored. The restored garden and the views it affords down towards the Potomac are spectacular; we visited in winter but I imagine it'd be prettier still in the spring and summer. The ongoing archaeological work provides many glimpses into what life was like for all the people who lived on the property, free and enslaved, rich and poor. All in all a must-see for lovers of history, architecture and design or simply those looking for a quiet place to unwind and explore.

My first time coming here was for the co*cktails by Candlelight event. Gunston Hall is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. The period food and drinks that I tried were wonderful. I adored everyone that I met who worked there, they were all super friendly and helpful. I was able to take a tour of the Mason house and walk through the house that generations of people have walked through for centuries! It was such an amazing experience that truly gives you a sense of place and time as well as a perspective on where you fit in this huge world that we live in. I'll definitely be going back for years to come.

Took our 4th grade students on a field trip. The tour was amazing and included rich history and was aligned to what our kids learned in social studies. The students loved learning and walking around the location with the tour guide. The tour guide love their jobs and that is what made the tour be an amazing experience for the students.

Lovely tour!! This is a hidden gem! Very informative museum with hands on displays for all ages. House tour was given by a wonderful staff member who took time to share her wealth of knowledge on George Mason and answer all of our questions! We were a bit rushed for time and wished we could have spent more time here exploring! Maybe we will get back to hike the trails and explore the grounds again.

Came here for a wedding. It was stunning. The museum was great. The rental hall space was perfect size for the wedding. The courtyard was stunning. The pathway to the wedding was gravel and the view of Mason's house behind them was stunning. The flowering trees were fragrant and beautiful. What a great experience.

This is a well preserved estate and piece of history. The guides are knowledgeable with a sense of humor. I recommend coming at different times of the year because you get a different feeling about the place each time. Overall, a very worthy trip.

After listening to William Hyland's audio book, "George Mason," I had to see Gunston Hall. It was beautiful, and it made the entire book come alive. I am a member of the DAR. This part of American history has always intrigued me. This audio book was one of the best ever and seeing Gunston Hall was worth the 500 round trip to see it.

We visited Gunston Hall as part of an organized school/organizational trip. It was great! I have been to many of the other colonial homes over the years in the region, but never came here or heard much about it. I actually think this is a gem for history lovers! It seems very well maintained and the docents are very enthusiastic about sharing the history. It's a great place for families with kids who can typically frequent history tours and historic homes. There will be things of interest in some of the spaces and docents can relate highlights of interest for kids. The school house is a treasure. I really enjoyed this because we don't get to see a colonial/early America school house very often. Absolutely recommend adding this stop to one's list of historic homes in the region to see!

First time visitor. I attended the Archaeology Symposium. Absolutely an amazing event. Speakers were a wealth of knowledge. We were served a light breakfast fare as well as an amazing lunch. This event was very well organized and flowed very smoothly. The organizers and the staff were very personable and friendly. They also included a tour of the Mansion. Our tour guide was excellent and very informative. The museum store has a great selection. Overall, a perfect day spent at this attraction.

We came here on a Friday. We were the only ones on the tour it was 6° but so, so worth it. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The house is so beautiful, way better than Mount Vernon! A must see.. the wood carvings.. do die for. Was only $10 to enter. Definitely worth it and will be back. This definitely is a hidden gem. Hopefully more people can come out and see the Beauty and learn some history.
