Aggregation kinetics and surface charge of CuO nanoparticles: the influence of pH, ionic strength and humic acids

Environmental context The high demand and use of nanomaterials in commercial products have led to increased concerns about their effect on the environment and human health. Because CuO nanoparticles are widely used in several products, it is necessary to understand and predict their behaviour and fate in the environment. We report a study on the aggregation and surface charge of CuO nanoparticles under environmentally relevant conditions to better predict the mobility and bioavailability of these materials in natural waters. In this study, the role of pH, ionic strength and humic acids (HAs) on the aggregation kinetics and surface charge of commercial copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles were examined. Results show that the aggregation of CuO nanoparticles is favoured near pH 10, which was determined as the isoelectric point where the hydrodynamic diameter of the aggregates is the greatest. Las lesiones de la sustancia blanca cerebral como la leucomalacia periventricular (LPV), el infarto hemorrágico periventricular (IHP), la ventriculomegalia (VMG) y las ecodensidades periventriculares (EDPV) son la causa más frecuente de alteraciones en el neurodesarrollo y de parálisis cerebral (PC) en recién nacidos prematuros menores a 1.500 g de peso al nacer. La patogénesis de estas lesiones es compleja y multifactorial: hipoxia, isquemia, infección, citoquinas y radicales libres están implicados en la misma. Las formas severas de las lesiones de la sustancia blanca cerebral (LSBC) pueden ser detectadas por ultrasonografía cerebral. Los factores de riesgo que precipitan la injuria cerebral pueden tener un origen antenatal, periparto o postnatal. Resumo Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar as modalidades do brincar de criancas em contexto de creche, discutindo sua importância para o desenvolvimento infantil e a participacao do adulto nos momentos de brincadeira. Participaram do estudo 9 criancas entre 1 e 3 anos de vida e 13 educadoras de tres instituicoes de educacao infantil. As interacoes videogravadas foram transcritas e analisadas qualitativamente por meio da descricao das interacoes entre as criancas, com os brinquedos e com as educadoras. Os resultados encontrados indicam que o brincar exploratorio foi mais observado no grupo de criancas de 1 ano, enquanto o simbolico foi observado nos grupos de 2 e 3 anos. Verificou-se pouca participacao das educadoras nas interacoes, principalmente com as criancas de 2 e 3 anos. The study presented in this paper is the outcome of the activity carried on within the program “Party Cloud Challenge per Genova”, promoted by IBM in collaboration with the city municipality of Genoa, Italy. This challenge aimed to show how using cognitive computing solutions in an integrated cloud-based development environment enables the rapid deployment of advanced services with interoperable applications. Specifically, we investigated a solution to cope with the problem of illegal dumping prevention in a smart city. In this respect, we will describe the study of the prototype of an automated visual recognition and alerting system. The presented solution relies on the use of cognitive computing technologies to analyze videos provided by cameras installed in urban areas, to identify trash, especially bulky waste, where it should not be, and trigger an alarm to the municipality. Problem solving is the main focus in learning mathematics at the primary and secondary school level. Prospective teachers must be prepared as well as possible as problem solvers and problem solving instructors. The purpose of this study was to describe the prospective teacher's ability to make a problem solving question based on category of good mathematical problem solving questions. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative.The research subjects were students of semester VI of the 2019/2020 academic year of the IAIN Takengon Mathematics Education Study Program. Based on the research results, it shows that the subjects in general already understood the theory of problem solving , but this understanding did not always directly proportional to the ability to make a mathematical problem solving question.

Through the explanation of the stewardship of the arrieros, which is one of the 10 stewardships in the town of Tepetlaoxtoc, in the city of the same name in the state of Mexico, the aim is to provide an approach to what is the male tepetlaoxtoc ethos. Since, beginning with mythical, historical, and cultural deeds that converge in a single representation of this stewardship, awareness can be raised concerning the symbolic and physical violence that any woman would encounter if she dared to interfere with or transgress against the social order imposed by the dominant male sphere.
