This role is a new function at MSCI and is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic self-starter to create an industry leading ESG ratings offering for the Indian capital markets.

Your key responsibilities
· Establishing the business of MSCI ESG Ratings and Research in India as an ESG rating provider
· Driving operational excellence for the entity to be effective, efficient, and reliable
o Work with ESG Research to ensure that the ratings process meets regulatory and internal control requirements. Note that the Head of ESG Ratings & Research Private Limited – India will not be a rating analyst or responsible for developing the rating methodology but will ensure that the rating process meets internal standards.
o Ensure that processes, policies, and procedures for the entity are in place to monitor and maintain standards of business conduct consistent with legislative and regulatory requirements
o Work with the control functions to ensure that the necessary internal controls are embedded in the business
o Establish and maintain necessary insourcing and outsourcing of support services from the across MSCI as a whole, within the existing regulatory framework
o Manage unforeseen operational issues effectively and in a timely manner to reduce risk
· Delivering on MSCI’s strategic growth and service objectives in India
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
· Strong written and oral communication skills with proficiency in English
· Experience in managing a team ideally with a P&L
· A proven ability to work as an individual and lead initiatives through to completion with minimal supervision
· A thorough understanding of ESG ratings
· A willingness to learn and facilitate business understanding of regulatory and policy developments
· An ability to act independently but also within a team environment
· Experience of bringing internal teams together to solve for challenges
